Former junior welterweight world boxing champion Ruslan Provodnikov explained that he has no motivation for returning to the ring and considers his style of fighting to be traumatic.
Provodnikov, who became very popular in his career for being a blood and guts warrior, has taken a lot of punishment in the ring.
"About returning to the ring, I can say that my mediocre boxing style... it is traumatic. Right now I have no motivation to return. I never chased after money or fame, so today I'm just enjoying life," Provodnikov stated.
He added that he wants to spend more time with his family.
"Life is a very interesting thing, I want to spend as much time as possible with my family. When the eldest son Ivan was born, I spent all of my time at the training camps, so now that I have little Timofey, I want to be around," said Provodnikov.
At the end of April 2020, the athlete's manager, Vadim Kornilov, told TASS that Provodnikov received a lucrative offer to fight, but he did not comment on it in more detail.
The manager noted that Provodnikov should not return to the ring. The retired athlete does a lot of significant things for the country, working in the political sphere, where he has the potential for further development.
Provodnikov had his last fight in 2016, losing a one-sided decision to John Molina Jr. In total, the former World Boxing Organization (WBO) world champion left with a record of 25 wins (18 by KO) and five defeats. Currently, 36-year-old Provodnikov is a member of the Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in Siberia.
Thank God Provodnikov is staying retired. Seeing him get boxed up by Molina was a sad sight

Hearn: Garcia agreeing to fight Campbell is a mistake
Promoter Eddie Hearn says that Ryan Garcia and his trainer Eddy Reynoso were ‘too brave’ in agreeing to a fight against British lightweight Luke Campbell in November, and now can’t back out of what is shaping up to be a stiff test of Garcia’s title credentials.
The stroller at the end and why these famous dudes are obsessed with Beats? Like there are better headphones imo.
Otherwise... he seems to have a good taste
