on this day..we learned a couple of things

1. fighters who are overtly technical doesn't always = a good fight..actually this was a re-education for some. no one will ever mistake this for a real cerebral boxing classic like toney vs mccallum
2. the cuban school of boxing took a very public hit in its reputation with the best practitioner of it in this generation. it is quite unfortunate the circumstances that forced this fight.

The Cuban school of boxing didn't take a hit imo, I mean you can be a skilled Cuban but still old and vastly outsized by a class opponent, that just happened there.
I've seen ppl saying Spence and Loma won against Mikey and Rigo only because of skills and not size but that's crazy to me. It's not only more simple to break down someone when you are naturally bigger but it's also easier to box them. You can relax more knowing what's coming back won't seriously hurt you. Size advantage matters be it boxing or brawling, if Mikey and Spence would be the same size or if Loma and Rigo would be the same size I'm pretty sure we would have seen at least closer fights than what we have seen.

as much as i think highly of usyk...he hasnt given me enough of a sample at HW to make me think he can beat Joshua now

if he faces Joshua next I do think Usyk will be beaten..if only that takam fight took place..it would have told me more

Imo they will do Usyk vs Chisora, maybe on AJ vs Pulev undercard, then the winners meet

Let’s say that Joshua dropping the WBO belt, then that means Uysk will fight somebody, right now Fury and Parker are 2 and 3. But what happens if they put Ruiz in the 3 spot. That would be hilarious that Ruiz May have a chance to fight Uysk for the right for a Wilder unification or Joshua trilogy.

Cuban school of boxing was already in the process of being shut down once Gamboa took that Bud fade. Lara running from Canelo like dude was prime Shavers ain't help much either.
At that point, Loma was just making sure summer school didn't happen either for them nikkas.

Well the Canelo fight was just boring and trash period. The AJ fight was "boring" but you still had a "just waiting until "it" happens" feel to it until about the 8th round THEN it got super boring. I don't mean it from a pure boxing standpoint, just from an excitement standpoint. i'm not trying to put down AJ's performance.

I think Joshua/Parker was worst. Now that fight was boring as fukk. Both them nikkas were scary.

Joshua/Ruiz 2 was more dramatic imo. It had its boring spots too, but at least some heavy shots were being thrown.
