But... at least this dude hasn't got too comfortable though like some of the young guys who drop their level of discipline at the first site of big money. :manny:
Many young fighters want that Mayweather lifestyle but they only want the "private jets, expensive clubs, flexing on the Gram" part of it and not the "being a super disciplined gym rat" part of it. :ld:

Yeah it's like Morales with zahir Raheem. Raheem was all kinds of wrong for him. Wasn't really even. Close
facts...and erik was coming off prolly beating the best version of manny pacquiao..stylin on him too

and raheem took him to school...like the shyt wasnt even close..it might have been the weight but the way that fight was going i dont think morales would have ever beaten him at his prime weight..they were trying to set up that doubleheader cuz pacquiao was on that card too...which they did but it kinda lost some luster

your stars are but dust on my shoes
Thing is he's not as good as Floyd, not even close if I'm being honest.
He's not even the best of this age's HW division basing on the Fury fight.
I get that fighters gotta be confident in themselves and believe they are even that level but nah, if he's yearning for the same recognition Floyd got he will stay yearning the rest of his career.

He fought 2 top opponents in his weightclass, one was still dangerous but old and he got gifted a draw against the other one.
Compare it to Floyd who was simply the best of his generation.
So why would Wilder get the same respect and recognition?
Not trying to shyt on Wilder with that, those are just the cold facts.

Have you read the quote? What is your interpretation? Because he makes no mention about being as good as Floyd. Floyd and other champions are given respect and praise, whereas Wilder continues to fight under what he perceives to be unfair and disrespectful preconceptions. Why is Wilder still seen as a protected hype job and not being recognized as a legitimate top heavyweight today?

Hate on his technical ability all you want, the fact is that Wilder is an exciting fighters (sometimes for the wrong reasons obviously) and he has P4P all time great power.

When you're a belt holder making consecutive title defenses and knocking people out in brutal fashion consistently, you get respected. How come Golovkin was getting so much love when he was running through cans, but Wilder gets shytted on consistently?

Yeah haven't seen him that bad until his 3rd Pacquiao fight where he had that thousand yard stare.

Morales beat Paquiao so clear the first time, that there was really no need for a rematch. However, it was probably the biggest money out there, so I get it.

Morales/Raheem was terrible matchmaking. Going into the fight, I thought Raheem was going to outpoint him, but that they would give Morales the decision, considering Morales/Pac 2 was next. Well, Zahir beat him so bad, that they couldn't even rob him. I was watching Zahir very closely at the time, so him outboxing Morales wasn't really surprising to me.

If you remember, Morales and Manny fought on the same night. Manny gets an easy tuneup with Velazquez, and they put Morales in there with Raheem? I never understood it. It's not like I thought Zahir was a monster, but I just knew that his style is just all wrong for damn near anybody in general. He only had one clean loss his entire career, which was Funeka. His other two losses were debatables.

I disagree about that being the best version of Manny. Manny had a serious problem against anyone that could box at a high level, at that point in time.

DAZN Exec Chairman John Skipper admits to “Messing Up” $100m Deontay Wilder deal!

In retrospect, I was too brash going in there without creating the relationships I needed to create with the people who advised Deontay Wilder. I have now worked to do that. It has to do with going back to the education I needed before getting into boxing … When we left that (Wilder) meeting, I KNEW WE MESSED UP and that we weren’t going to be successful (Wilder)

We were IMPATIENT, and after having some early success, we wanted to MOVE QUICKLY. Now I understand that I’ve got to work relationships, work within a framework and understand other peoples’ self-interests and needs as well … If I had to do it again, I’d have gone in and said, ‘I’m playing the long game.’ I’m playing the long game with Canelo and GGG, too.
