No they don't do PPV they work with fix prices and sometimes they include in the contract that those purses can go higher if they reach subscription benchmarks (not defined to the public what are these exactly), the one who has that in his contract is Canelo, that's the one I know at least.
But if Canelo the biggest PPV star rn (well... before he went to DAZN) wasn't bothered by getting a fix price instead of fighting on PPV cause the fix price was so good (33M/fight estimated) then idk what Wilder's problem is

I feel like some fighters just do this as a job and don't necessarily have the passion to push themselves too much. Same like some coders aren't hacking stuff on the free time, they do this just because they are good at it. Didn't GRJ get 1M a fight ? That's 1M a year for fighting dudes that are below his skill level. I'd do the same if I were in his shoes
Man these dudes are GOOFY. The Wilder fury built a ton of momentum for the Heavyweight division. Naturally a Wilder AJ or Fury fight of some type needed to be next.
I can understand refusing the flat fee above all if AJ get PPV points. But the situation makes it look like everybody's ducking everybody. All their moves make sense business-wise but from a competitive stand point, it's terrible.
right now we've reached the process of elimination stage at HW...fight other fighters that are either mandatory or have some notoriety...the shyt happened before pac vs floyd

to shake things upImagine if let's say Breazeale, Rivas or Miller would pull the upset somehow and then everybody would bomb them with huge offers to fight AJ/Fury/Wilder (depending which 2 are still standing)
imagine all three pulling the upset and we would see Breazeale vs Miller for undisputed then the winner vs Rivas the lineal champ

I don’t think 40million flat is enough for a Joshua/Wilder fight. I’d take the same risk if I’m Wilder. There’s more money on the table there.
