This Fury vs Wilder mess reminds me a bit of the Stevenson vs Kovalev situation except that I think if none of them loses before they actually gonna meet (again).
It was a bit different cause HBO built both of them while Fury only had 1 fight on Showtime but the situation is still very similar. Big fight crossed because of sudden change in promoter/network for one fighter.
I view this as unfortunate turn of events which are part of boxing and can happen sometimes, not x's or y's fault.
Just like I used to think it wasn't Stevenson ducking Kovalev (maybe that too but idk...) but rather him taking a bigger money deal and just like I never blamed Haymon for signing a top fighter when the opportunity was there I also think Fury is just making a business decision now and that it's absurd blaming Arum for signing a top HW. Blaming Top Rank for this is like you would expect them to fall back and watch others play it out in the HW division. Especially now that HW became a lucrative division again it was important to them to enter the picture somehow, they only had Rivas, Jennings and Pulev... So the opportunity came and they signed Fury.
Should they just say "Let DAZN and PBC play this out between themselves, why join the picture?"? What's next, should they send money bags to PBC?
Y'all can't be this naive
This way they suddenly have a good chance that they can host a big HW fight in the near future unlike before they signed Fury.
