I get what y’all saying tho but how did Porter win with less skill . Them ugly punches count just as much as that pretty shyt. I can’t say that Danny is better skilled that Shawn P if he lost to him. It’s just like saying Chocolito is more skilled than King Sor but he clearly got beat by him.

Porter is a damn good fighter N showed plenty of nice things in the fight N his activity was the determining factor of getting the W

It ain't even about who is more skilled...it comes down to a comment saying

With Porter and Danny, I just saw one guy who wanted it more than the other.

When you saying someone has inferior skills, I gotta see a Forrest vs Mosley 1 type of performance. You can't win a fight by 12 punches and no knockdowns and be superior in skills.

With the logic nikkas is using, that means Whyte is more skilled than Parker and we know that's not the case.

and me personally, I don't list elite effort as a skill unless you just running nikkas over and dominating top level opponents with that effort.

Prime Pryor is elite effort
Prime Pac is elite effort
Prime Paul Williams is elite effort.

Those 3 were literally making nikkas fly out of the ring with there pressure and spirited effort on offense.

Porter just uses more effort than his opponents but he's still having close competitive fights with them. Ain't nothing elite about that.

breh i literally when I read that part. It's funny cuz its true especially when you visualize all the knockdowns, wobble moments, and ankle breaks that happened in that trilogy. There was clearly a separation of skill, talent, athleticism, etc....

Before the fight I woulda said danny clearly had more skills than porter. But the porter we seen on Saturday wasnt the same fighter. He was improved. He had evolved. He showed better speed. Better footwork. Better ring IQ. more dimensions to his game. So judging solely off Saturdays fight I would have to say porter is the more skilled fighter. Not by a huge amount but the difference was displayed. Danny just refuses to take risks. He refuses to put himself in a position to get hurt or knocked out. He did it vs Thurman and he did the same exact thing against porter. That just tells you a Thurman rematch would end the same exact way.
