Been traveling and whatnot the past couple weeks so my mind's been all over the place. As an update though, I started an account with One United and not pleased thus far. Mainly because I've opened other online accounts in minutes with no hassle. Fill it out, log in and your debit card is in the mail.

With One United, first I didn't hear anything for a week or so. Then, I got a letter saying that they need a copy of my driver's license and a utility bill. I sent that and didn't hear anything back. Finally decided to call and they had no record of it, so they asked me to fax it. For supposedly the world's first black online bank, they sure are acting outdated and making me do a lot of OFFline shyt.

I just sent the fax today, so I'll keep you brehs posted. I funded the account through my Wells Fargo the day I filled out the application and that went through. My thing is, if they have my money and know that I don't yet have an account, they should be tracking me down to make shyt right, not the other way around. It's been a month now.

I'll keep ya'll posted. Just an FYI.

First off good look on being persistent breh :salute:

Unfortunately the customer service aspect of some of our businesses really need to be a whole lot better, but on the flip side the two black businesses near my house got some of the nicest folks ever working there sohh :manny:

Thankfully I have a couple local black banks in Atlanta to chose from, but if I didn't I'd def open an account with them.

Breh, I know you want to support black businesses, but driving 30 minutes out of the way to a gas station is not really feasible in the long run. If there are no black businesses around for me to spend my money at, then I try to buy local, in the case of gas stations I try to fill up at places in my town if I have enough gas to get back to town.

Don't discourage that man from trying to do his part breh :dahell:

I do the exact same thing. Recently I had some work done in my basement and I went with the black contractors even though they were over a thousand dollars more expensive.

I don't think we really understand the importance of us owning black businesses. It's the core reason to a lot of our problems. It's why unemployment is so high, it's why crime is so prevalent in our communities, it's why shyt like ferguson and Trayvon happen.

Us patronizing our own should be something that everyone of us do on a regular basis. We need to start and support our own businesses and use that money to gain power and influence to help all black people in our community (pay off politicians, get laws passed, change school curriculums, etc).

If we want to fight white supremacy, you have to do it with your money.

Got my girl on board breh. And she spreading the word to her friends. Soon me and the org I'm with is literally going to start going door to door in black neighborhoods letting them know why group economics is important and giving them a list of all the black owned businesses in their neighborhoods.
