Yep.

This ending was almost the opposite of what I remember some people were predicting for Walt or even Tony Soprano. People were predicting they might not "die" but would end up in prison with nobody which was sort of a "death" of their spirit.

Jimmy ended up in prison but he has self-respect, the respect of the criminals in New Mexico that he helped as a lawyer, and he was the respect of Kim again, and possibly even a rekindling of their flame. That last part is definitely open to interpretation on whether or not she visits him again, but the colorized flame of the lighter and their cigarette was clearly symbolic that there's still a love and passion there...even if they can't really be together again.

He's gonna die in prison, but he has as much as anyone in his shoes could have given the circumstances.

And yeah...I'm not sure why realism is such a big deal for some folks. As @hex has pointed out years ago on here, realism has never been deemed an essential characteristic of good fiction. A universe just needs to establish how it works and stick to it, and BrBa, El Camino, and BCS all did that.

Man that shyt was GOAT tier.

To the people saying they don't get his logic...he literally did exactly what he told Walt to do in "Granite State", even with the same outcome he said would happen.

Death or jail was the only end for a guy like Saul. People talking about he should've took the 7....and then what, he works at Costco? :mjlol:

He would regret that choice as soon as he got out.

Jimmy is a John Milton "better to reign in hell than serve in heaven" sort of guy. He'd rather be jailed as Saul than free as Gene.

Fred.
More so, he gets to know that he was the best….its something else he has in common with Walt…there is something to be said about being the BEST at anything….he completely sonned the government and proved that he was better than them to himself and Kim…and then, backtrakcs on it, gets on record that he was the best criminal lawyer and gets clout in prison because of it.

He’s more than a monkey with a machine gun :wow:

The episode before the series finale was better. Might have been the best episode of the series and one of the best episodes of tv ever.

Republicans in New Mexico Are Furious Over ‘Breaking Bad’ Statues: ‘We’re Glorifying Meth Makers’

The decision to erect two statues of “Breaking Bad” characters Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico is causing an uproar among some of the state’s Republican figures. The statues were unveiled July 30 at a ceremony attended by Cranston, Paul, “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan and Albuquerque mayor Tim Keller.

Gilligan said at the statues’ unveiling that honoring “two fictional, infamous meth dealers” wouldn’t be celebrated by everyone in New Mexico, adding, “In all seriousness, no doubt some folks are going to say, ‘Wow, just what our city needed.’ And I get that. I see two of the finest actors America has ever produced. I see them, in character, as two larger-than-life tragic figures, cautionary tales.”

It turns out Gilligan was right. Albuquerque-based conservative talk radio host Eddy Aragon and Republican state representative Rod Montoya are two public figures condemning the 500-pound statues.

“I’m glad New Mexico got the business, but really?” Montoya recently told Fox News. “We’re going down the road of literally glorifying meth makers?”

“It’s not the type of recognition we want for the city of Albuquerque, or for our state,” Aragon added, noting that “what you saw on ‘Breaking Bad’ should be a documentary, honestly. I think, really, that is the reality in New Mexico. We try to say it’s fictional, but that is the reality… we’ve joked that [‘Breaking Bad’] should be on PBS. That is, unfortunately, the reality.”

Aragon blasted the state for erecting “Breaking Bad” statues after it decided to take down a statue of Spanish conquistador Juan de Oñate, who was the first Spanish governor of New Mexico.

“Now we have brand-new statues,” Aragon said. “Now we’re putting fictional characters out in front. We have Jesse Pinkman and, of course, Heisenberg, and we have now erected statues and our progressive mayor from the city of Albuquerque has stood behind them. We’re funding those, so it’s OK to go get rid of real historical figures and now, somehow it’s even better, to [have] fictional, drug-dealing figures.”

Albuquerque mayor Tim Keller said that it was appropriate to erect “Breaking Bad” statues given the positive economic impact the show has had on the city over the years. He added, “While the stories might be fictional… jobs are real every single day. The city is also a character… We see ourselves in so many ways, good and bad.”

Masterful finale. Masterful series.

My only gripe with the show was how unlikeable the main character was. Jimmy/Saul/Gene was a real scumbag and it grew tiresome watching him lie, cheat, scam, and manipulate victims day in and day out, with no real redeemable qualities.

But the show was executed beautifully. I would watch anything these guys put out.

So, let's have a retrospective.

Who were your favorite new characters in BCS. In order for me it's:

  • Lalo (by far honestly)
  • Kim
  • Nacho
  • Annoying camera guy

Nacho was my favorite but all four of those were fantastic. I always forget about the camera guy but he his appearances kept getting better as the series went on.

Howard redeemed himself as a character as the series went on. Cliff was a solid straight man. Daniel Wormald was a great character for his little run. All the courthouse staff were fun.

My least favorite characters were Werner and his entire crew, Chuck, Marco, Mike's family, and Richard Schwelkart.

now that it’s all said and done how we ranking these seasons? :lupe:

did a rewatch dueing the break so its fresh on my mind and i’d say it goes 6 > 3 > 5 > 2 > 1 > 4

4 was the wekeaest to me personally cause i thought rhe fallout of Chuck dying wasn’t really handled well but other than that this show ain’t have too many weak spots :leon: every season was at least decent at worse
