How many people are over Geechi all time? names like DNA shouldn’t be over Geechi

Better than dna, beat him head-to-head, more influential (west coast, banging in battle rap, etc), more headlines

Geechi is dominating a weaker era, but DNA could never dominate any era, including this current one

Hard to put Geechi in top 6-8 all time because I need more classic battles and performances from him. His Surf battle and Ave battle can be called classics. His Nitty battle was excellent. But I need to see some more. It’s not enough that he’s battled everyone

Not so fast.... "banging in battle rap" lmaooooooooo

Geechi is only one era, DNA was already a star in GrindTime

I like the "Gary" thing but I don't think I had Geechi winning clear vs DNA

They were both in a tournament for money and DNA took that home

DNA kept freestyling ability relevant on the Smack URL platform

Geechi loses a way higher percentage of his battles than DNA. He lost to A. Ward twice, lost to Ave, lost to Cal, lost to Verb, lost to Arsonal, got WALKED by Surf, etc.

DNA resurrected 2 on 2 battles

NWX is the blueprint for whatever Geechi is trying to do with EFB

DNA has always done better YouTube numbers

DNA has done more for battle rap growing as a whole

"DNA Tooth" has a whole career as a blogger

He technically won the Ultimate Madness tourney... He had more votes, him & Geechi we're splitting the bread regardless.

Sidenote: Cal didn't beat Geechi and I was rooting for him

The consensus after the battle was that Cal won & Geechi had the round of the battle. Doesn't matter who you were rooting for.

Jayblac almost singlehandedly brought competitiveness back to battle rap. I could never have an issue with the Champion of the Year award to the extent that I would diss him.
This, to shyt on JayBlac AINT IT. AT ALL

JayBlac not only single-handedly brought competitiveness back to Battlerap.
He brought STRUCTURE to Battlerap.

A strong argument could be made that the critique COTY is having is because of Blac providing OTHERS that are not as professional as him too big of a input by giving them a platform on COTY debate.

I strongly believe that the screening for the COTY shoulda been a LOT tighter.

If it was up to me the panel woulda been.

• JayBlac
• John Reel
• Angryfan
• Tony Bro
• ChrisUnbias
• Marc (PG Bloggers)

Most them other nikkas wanna be FRIENDS with these battlers on some cornball shyt so they practice blatant favoritism and stannery.
Or use metrics that don’t matter to push their favorite battler agenda or not give credit to battlers they don’t like or deem “cool / street” enough.

Yeah Blac needs to narrow it down to 5 or 6 panelists this year. Its impossible to maintain any kind of order when you got 9/10 people yelling over each other, and having thier own side conversations on the mic

I understand he won the tournament, but he didn't beat anyone of note. And Cal definitely beat Geechi, I was in the building and that was the consensus until it landed on the app and everyone on the westcoast voted for Geechi. It's clearly becoming a popularity contest.

A Ward beat Geechi IN COMPTON, the SECOND time he beat him.

Let a nikka had beat HIM, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. The favoritism displayed this year is nasty.

JayBlac gotta do better cause this ain’t it. AT ALL
Talk!! Champion has always been corny and trash. Blac when he reviewed battles whilst looking in the mirror>>>>champion

COTY is kinda bullshyt. Too much dikk riding, and too much URL influence. It's great rappers can get extra money, but the shyt is all but rigged right now. The only way I could see Gotti not winning was Danny beats Sikh, beats a huge name on SM, and arguably doesn't lose a round all year, but, they STILL may have given it to Gotti on the back of the Lux battle. Or, if Lux washes him, but there's no way the bias West Coast/Crip crowd and shook URL staff would allow it unless he choked. They shift narratives and move goalposts so much, I would 100% say it's rigged, but the panel is too sloppy, random and ridiculous to believe it.

Calicoe didn't battle enough. I think he had 3 One-on-One 3 round battles and most people have Surf 30ing him.
The funny thing is they were debating Charlie Clips at around #12 and just forgot about him.
Definitely needs more structure in the future, but for the most part if picking the battle rapper of the year is the main goal then they've been successful at getting that right....I've agreed with them every year (with maybe the exception of O-Red).
