Why do some people act like 3-4 weeks isn't enough time to write a phenomenal 200 or so bars? That's madddd time, especially considering this is your job. Some of these guys are just lazy and probably be putting it on the back burner until like 2 or 3 days out, smh. A workhorse like a Danny Myers or DNA could probably battle once a week and the material be great.

Salute to Smack for making these guys work and earn that money...this shyt is like UFC to me, that's why having some losses on your record don't really matter like that, aint no easy fights...and the turn around for most active battlers isn't that long.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard these two have “great” material.

What? Smack been robbing these niccas for years.

Also, it does take time if you want some real quality material. As they pointed out on My Expert Opinion, 3 rounds of material is almost equivalent to the amount of bars an artist may use for an album, which is wild. These dudes have been losing the right to their intellectual property for a long time.

Quality over quantity

Battle rappers who think they’re better than everyone else = all battle rappers
Nah most battlers think they're better battlers. Them nikkas think they're better people. Especially Vegans and I'm Vegan. But Vegans give us a bad name, nikkas swear they're superior just because they don't eat meat (Verb is an example of this).

They say the same about Dana White. Boxers say the same about boxing promoters. Artists say the same about the labels. Etc...it's basically an unwritten law to bytch about not being paid what you're worth and getting robbed.

Everyone is going to side with whoever they feel is the little man, naturally...but the promoters/owners/bosses are always gonna get a far bigger piece than the work force, in any work force. Ain't nobody robbing nobody, you get paid what you negotiate

What you gonna do if somebody rob you and you know who did it? I know what I'm gonna do. Even off that tho, why not lawyer up? Or leave? Go on a super smear campaign? Etc... Not trying to defend Smack and them but I'm just speaking generally, it's always the same in these kind of frameworks, the talent always feels they're being robbed....and a lot of times they are, but that's what contracts and renegotiating and lawyers are for. I seriously doubt Beasley and them are giving them lil dudes a brown bag, contracts are involved, contracts that they agreed to and signed. Even when it was a brown bag, they was agreeing to that too! That's not robbery, that's an agreement.

Ah, I misread that. I was thinking he was just meaning better than other battlers.

I hear you, but a lot of these corporations and companies take advantage of people because they feel like they're offering opportunity and don't fairly compensate their participants for that they are bringing. And since a lot of these guys at the time battled out of desperation, they essential robbed them, because they weren't paying them fair wages. It's like when people hire laborers and don't pay them fairly, but since they may not be citizens or they're not on the books, they feel like it's okay to underpay them, because they're desperate. I'll never be in favor of the companies taking advantage of the workforce.
