it’s some old jersey/ny talk that I guess got hot again

he added the jersey because he came up rapping in VA is what I always assumed. his home league has a lot of up north transplants who had their own clique going
Thanks cuz I thought his name was about booty clapping and was confused.

From a business standpoint, where is the value in sitting on the vaulted battles?
Is it to protect the ‘star power’ of the battler who didn’t show up?

the only value I can think of is it adds mystique and the content is proprietary

kind of like when a musician dies and the estate is sitting on unreleased songs - they keep it close to the hip and release strategically if at all

i think the brand itself also by releasing a subpar battle where one or both battlers choked but also yeah at times to protect a certain battler like ge vs cal comes to mind

Ayooo :russ: qp a cotdamn fool for this, abusin them crackas

Wish more battlers aggressively leaned into their weird shyt like this instead of tryna be tough

We were just talking about GE so this shyt go together. These guys are both aggressively weird, they battled last year, and then what happened?
All types of beef in the air, and some wild allegations being thrown around. Looking back at it this event might be proof that controversy itself doesn't really sell in battle rap. It's the narrative.

The latter most definitely yes, but also you have to remember back in the days of YouTube money being big in battle rap you had a standard of quality to uphold, people waited on URL releases to drop and if a battle with marquee names featured choking or mediocre crowd reaction, it's going to reflect poorly on the brand.

Now that they've gone with the app it would be ridiculous to vault anything no matter the quality because the name of the game is pumping out a maximum amount of content for people to stream

I never used to fukk with the saga before I thought he was overrated lyrically and gimmicky with the Christian shyt but he has been fire lately . I have nitty edging the 3rd and saga edging the first and nitty clearly the second but you could make a case saga edged the 1st and 3rd . Dope battle especially for purely an app battle

JC doesn't need a team like Lux does. Lux does more than battle rap and has or had that hot 97 freestyle thing. So Lux having a team makes sense. What JC and a lot of other battlers need is a mentor or business advisor to help them brand themselves. JC would be in a better place if he learned how to brand himself better.
