Ave is basically a trap battle imo (for top tiers).
To me Ave is similar to a Todd, in the sense that I don’t think guys are really excited about battling him. As a result, it could turn out to be a bad battle. The difference between the two is Ave wins these battles while Todd has debatables.
Ave had a period where he was winning battles due to his opponents having poor preparation or just weak material. That’s not his fault, but I do feel it just shows that his peers don’t view him as a high threat. It’s understandable, as he’s just a real monotone punchline guy. He’s nowhere as dynamic as a Rum Nitty, who tends to get a real good version of whoever he battles.
I know there’s some real huge fans of Ave on here, but just look at what I’m saying objectively. I’m not saying he’s a bad battler. He’s just not a guy people get it for (specifically top tiers).
