I think the issue before was they wasn't getting paid as much they should off views because their cpm was lower due to the ads they could put on the content but they still made money off the battles.
But now Youtube has completely demonetized damn near all rap battles. Meaning they are yellow marked and can't make any money off battles period.

Did the tweet/article say why? Is it the content? They be throwing the f-bomb for gays and every other bomb around like it’s nothing, I figured once the right people got wind of that it would/could be problematic to the YouTube bag.
Youtube just got much stricter with content. Even people who do vlogs had to change their content. Certain words are gonna get you yellow marked now. No surprise Battle Rap is gonna suffer.
YouTube gets more and more trash by the day.
It was trending in this direction.
Watch some of these other platforms try to come up with some janky websites/apps.
I honestly believe URL is the only league that can really pull off an app. They just need to figure out how to use YouTube to compliment the app.
I’ve been saying for years they should purchase content from other leagues, take it off youtube, and put it on the app. The opportunity could be now. There’s battles like Rex/Yung Ill that would fit perfectly under the URL library.
Maybe I’m giving the URL too much credit, but I have been suspecting for awhile now that they have been encouraging battlers to get their money on different leagues lately, because they know they can’t possibly make any money off these events.
