Listening to Organik’s rant on Angryfan. He’s breaking down why battle rap is in the toilet, and the lackluster matches.

I really don’t care for the NOME card. It’s basically top tiers vs mid tiers battles put together out of necessity.

Biggest issue is URL has not created a new star in years. The last star they created is now the flagship battler on Remy's league.

You can't keep relying on the old guard to carry the culture. Say what you want about him as a person but Norbes >>>>>>>> P as far as developing stars.

Even the battlers I like that have came out in the last 5 years or so, have capped at a ceiling like Jey, Sikh, Ace either because they either have no star quality, poor performances in key moments or bad career management.

Yep battle rap’s inability to produce new talent is why it’s in the toilet. It’s effecting the men and women, and we gotta deal with these awful men vs women battles that have became the norm.

Hell if they brought in solid guys every year they don’t even have to be stars, but they can be hot at the right time to create different matchups before they fizzle out. Someone like Sikh was never going to be a star, but you could justify putting him on a big card against someone like a Pat while he’s hot, and it won’t feel like a forced matchup. Same thing when Gjonaj came through and everyone wanted to see him battle Diz. You need these type of guys as well. Right now, the url isnt producing stars or solid b side battlers that can create fresh matchups for the top tiers.

New talent should always be the priority. The fact that they are allowing this to go on is crazy to me..

Yeah, I don't see battle rap lasting another 3 months with YouTube having a corncob stuck up they ass about Profanity, like Rap Music overall is kid and family friendly, especially in today's climate lol

It's just in for a hard reset.

Prices going to have to change, leagues gonna have to tighten their budgets, they gotta think of new things to bring excitement to lure more investors, etc...
