not feeling Smack bytching about battlers charging URL more than they charge the smaller leagues. You getting charged more comes with the territory of being a bigger league/the biggest league. URL also making more money than the other leagues with the ppv/app and shyt the battler is on.

Also Smack's/Chris' "our platform can make you a star so yall should take less/not expect more money" angle is at it's weak. URL is not making stars with the app shyt and caffeine leaving. So them other leagues may off better opportunity with a youtube drop.

Which allows him leverage in negotiations. That 10k that battler getting for Black Ice or w/e is probably as bigger percentage of their budget for the event. The caffeine pay seemed like a lose-lose if they didn’t spread the love and inflate prices they would have been accused of hoarding the money, robbing battlers, etc.

No it's not, none of that makes sense. A-listers don't do random movies for D-list bread without consequences. No logical business person will pay higher rate for your time simply because they have a more popular product than the last person you worked for. As much as Aye Verb argues the battlers are the product, they aren't. Battlers numbers aren't consistent across platforms. The platform is the product the artists are in the supply chain or whatever you would call it. URL can produce the product without these guys so it's on them to prove what they're worth.

We haven't seen Danny Myers booked on URL but he had a big battle on the UDUBB card that URL was helping promote. I didn't see it but his battle was considered the best of the night. There's no way Ars paid what Danny expects to make from URL. If the money doesn't determine how well he performs, how will he ever get a "bag" from URL for a marquee event?

I know the battlers get their first half immediately, when they get the first half is when most of them start writing…but do they get their second half even when they choke and don’t complete the battle? I think they do…and that’s insane. What is the incentive to do good and write 3 full rounds and properly prepare? For what? Even if I don’t I’m getting my full purse. Shhit is kinda stupid. The first “half” should be like a quarter of the purse really…after you complete the battle you get the rest. If you don’t complete it then cool, you got the quarter to write what you wrote, thanks for that…now keep it movin.

Here’s the thing though. The tickets and pay per views and views are sold on the battler’s name. People have to watch or pay to watch in the first place to even know if you choked. So it wouldn’t make any sense to NOT get paid the rest of your money based on a choke. However it would obviously affect your reputation and negotiating power for the next event.

Basically, the revenue was already generated before you rapped.
