All JC needs to do his revamp his style, which is what any top battler should do to avoid getting stale.
JC revamped his style over 5 years ago out of necessity to slow down so that the crowd could catch it and he could take that next leap. This was when battle rap was still primarily in NY, and complained about nyggas that rap fast (with exception of a few). It worked, and nearly got him the Lux battle.
Now JC and battle rap is in a different space. Battle rap events take place everywhere now. Battles like Lux, Verb, etc are attainable just because those guys have battled everyone. They need opponents. Surf just got off a run battling Todd/Cortez/JC. He's now calling out Danny Myers. These aren't battles he would normally take, but Surf needs opponents.
Now JC's goal should be different. It's not about just landing these battles anymore. I believe they will come. He needs to actually win these battles. Going up there and rapping monotone with the elite will not work.
I heard that he may have Verb next. That's a good battle for him, but even Verb may be a problem for him. The thing with Verb is that he turns up against opponents that scare him, but shows up to battles looking like shyt against opponents that don't threaten him.
