What the hell happened to the Cassidy Vs. Freeway battle?

Feels like most people just forgot about it.

Let's go Lyt! I know he's a snake oil salesman through and through but I believe him here, I think he'd put everything into his Surf rounds if they lock up and tear him apart. The Lux influence on Daylyt is amazing to witness, I think Lux made him stop wanting to be a lost nig lowkey.

Kid Chaos is generic as fukk. Dude is the basic "pen" archetype. Same as Emerson Kennedy, Saga, Street Hymns (who I used to like smh) and a bunch of other nikkas. Whats the difference between their pens? Them nikkas all sound and write the same. Daylyt, Loaded Lux, JC, Illmac, Jey The Nitewing, Iron Solomon, Aye Verb, etc all write different from each other and everybody else, thats why their held in a high regard.....

Im confused, the whole point of the tournament (aside from the 100K) was to make it on NOME for the finals. Why are nikkas that lost in tournament on this card? That just downplays it; JC vs Swamp could've just been a one off or something if they gone do that. I know the 100k is the main prize but still.

I agree. Being on NOME is part of the reward for making it to the finals with the 100K. Now the only reward is the 100K, which obviously is the biggest aspect, but still, kinda shytty for JC and Swamp.
I think these takes lacks contexts. The UM5 losers on NOME are Sikh, Geechi, and Nunn Nunn. Sikh made it to the 2nd rd, and his battle with Fonz is really close. I actually gave the battle to Sikh. Plus Sikh was on NOME last year and had the body of the night.

Geechi is still one of the biggest/most popular battle rappers in the world. UM5 will have nothing to do with him getting on a big card. Also a lot of people have him beating Tru Foe. It was another close battle

As far as Nunn Nunn, the majority of the culture was saying he got robbed vs Sheed (Although I disagree. IMO they were both mediocre That battle).

?????? They shouldn't been on NOME if they were in the tournament to be on NOME, that is the point. What is so hard to understand about that? The Nunn Nunn argument you can have, I was referring to Geechi and Sikh. If Geechi is such a big name then what the fukk he enter the tournament for? If you wanted to be on NOME, you shouldn't have been in tournament and lost. As already mentioned, you just undersell the tournament and the work put in for it. Real Sikh getting to 2nd round in the tournament dont mean shyt, HE LOST! Who cares how far he got, he wasnt the only one; look how far Fonz and Sheed got.

Everything else youre talking about is completely irrelevant.

I agree with everything Day said here except for the stupid shyt about nikkas outside of Cali being able to live good if they just avoided gang banging. East Coast nikkas jacking Cali gangs is the lamest shyt I’ve ever seen but it was fukked up in Newark (and every other major EC city) way before these dumb nikkas started wearing color coded uniforms and practicing those stupid ass handshakes. Day acting like nikkas would be at the park playing tee ball if Menace, South Central and Boyz in the Hood wasn’t made.

All that said, I got Day eviscerating Surf in a battle if he took it seriously.

This is just your opinion. URL never said if you lose in the tournament you can’t be on NOME. If you thought UM5 would impact if Geechi would be on NOME , then you were crazy. The main prize is not NOME, it is the 100k. Geechi been on almost every big card for the last 3 years. Sikh have already been on NOME, Summer Madness and the Drake Card. Having them on this NOME dose not devalue the tournament at all. It would be different if this was UM 4 with all the rookies.

I feel you. But when was the last time a URL crowd truly appreciated Lux's style? I don't feel like a modern-day URL crowd has the patience for this type of matchup. If the battle were on URL, it'd have to be in the Mook/Roc, Lyt/Roc setting to be truly appreciated.
