The problem with these so-called reviews just like the one with Kevin Smith is that they complain over what THEY expect all superhero films to be and not for what the film individually WANTS it to be. You cannot say a film is a "bad film" because you dislike its tone and want it to be a happy tone. That's not what the filmmakers are gunning for. They do not want an action comedy. They do not want a family fun joy ride. They wanted an adult-mature film that delves into modern day mythology.

As I said before, I can pass if people say it is bad editing or say they did not like someone's acting or even critique about the direction or parts of the screenplay. But when you saying it is dark, it is grim, it is joyless. THAT IS THE POINT. That is what they wanted. These are the SAME KIND of criticisms that people complained about for EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. About it didn't have hope and fun like the original Star Wars. That it left on a cliffhanger. That it was always dreary and hopeless and the heroes did not win. That it was too dark. Nothing about how revolutionary, how ambitious, and how well directed the movie was. Today it is viewed as one of the greatest films ever made.

If you don't want your movies to be serious and adult... fine. But do not bash a film for its INTENT. Criticize it for things that they intended to do and it didn't work. But to say it is depressing and hopeless, you do not deserve to be a critic.

And to add, some of these critics really are power-tripping. They truly trying to derail the movie and making ALL the excuses they could muster to undermine its success. I read an article today by a critic upset at the success of the film claiming the movie is the cinematic version of DONALD TRUMP. And the fans are no different from Trump fans. That is a disgusting use of comparison just because that individual didn't so-called care for the movie. But there's constant articles that really trying their all to smear this movie.
So-called reviews? :mjlol: They're reviews and there are no rules or handbook they have to follow, sorry. You can have expectations for what you want in a movie, especially when it is based on well known source material.
Making Superman dark especially is just dumb. He is the super hero starter kit for everyone. He's for fukkin' kids! Making him all emo, sullen and suicidal is not anyone's idea of what the character should be. What's the S on his chest in Kryptonian language supposedly stand for again?

The reasoning for Superman having issues with Batman is dumb and a waste. The reasoning for Batman seeing Superman as a threat makes perfect sense considering he was THERE when Metropolis was hit and lost his own employees too. Then got the vision in where he saw himself in the future with a message from Flash telling him that he was right all along. And to top it off, witnessed the Senate bombing on TV with returned checks talking about "you let your family die". His spill to Alfred about the 1% chance pretty much sewn it up.
They did waste Superman's gripe with Batman but he flat out said multiple times why Batman was a menace.

As for Batman, dude knows Superman fought to save the world even if he fukked things up accidentally. Batman and Alfred's argument is summed up:
"He's being doing good far. He doesnt seem all that bad"
"But theres chance he is bad and I cant take that risk"
:skip: based on what? Batman spent the film gathering dirt on Lex yet Superman's the problem:leostare:
Had this film suggested Batman was slowly losing his shyt via the nightmare's it would have been cool but that never happened. He's been wanted to murder Superman from the start of the movie sans Lex's manipulation (another wasted plot point).

Did Lex know Bruce was Batman:patrice:

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
I mentioned this in the Dope thread before; but, I just find it funny how people/critics pick and choose which movies they are going to be critical of -- and what movies they decide they're going to just "enjoy," with no real rhyme or reason. I'm legit critical across the board. This movie definitely has faults, major points in the plot are essentially nonsensical (e.g., Luthor attempting to push Batman over the edge with the scribblings that he wasn't even receiving) and continuity issues. A more talented director could have smoothed some of this out. For example, the way the "Martha" scene is portrayed could have been way more impactful with the right touches, but it comes of as weak in the context of the movie instead of something with real gravitas. It plays as silly coincidence as opposed to fate or kismet.

Stuff like that is why I say Zack is a hack -- as I've said many times. However, it's still an "okay," movie. It's better than MoS which is legit rubbish. I'd say it's a bout a 6.75 or 7/10 movie if I'm feeling generous. What I can't understand is how people will rant and rave about a movie like SW: TFA that has many of the same continuity issues, beyond silly plot points, huge changes in character motivation for no real reason, etc. For me, JJ is a shyte director too.

I can't see how people can be all :gladbron: over one movie with the same damn issues.

And :stopitslime: at another movie with the same problems.

And that's just a quick referenced comparison I'm using, but I notice it all the time over a wide array of films.

shyt legit be having me like :jbhmm:.

Batman V. Superman Earns Largest Monday March Box Office With $15M

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice has claimed a top spot at the box office: the biggest Monday in March.

The DC Comics/Warner Brothers film hauled in $15 million to start the week, topping other big openings of Furious 7 and The Hunger Games by $1 million and $5 million respectively.

In comparison to other big comic book movies, Batman v. Superman's $15 million Monday topped both Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron, two summer releases, by $4 million and $2 million respectively.

Over the weekend, Dawn of Justice claimed a spot among the top 10 biggest opening weekends with over $400 million worldwide, $166 million of which came domestically.

watching the cam online again, it's almost weird how batman is villainized during the fight. when he turns the tables on superman with the kryptonite and starts beating his ass, the music gets all dark and ominous. and then when superman finally musters up the strength and starts to fight back, the music is stirring and triumphant.

if i were a small kid and i liked batman that part might make me feel very weird, that's of course if I weren't half dead asleep 30 minutes in.:upsetfavre:

edit: batman even goes on full on chickenshyt heel and cops pleas like ric flair at one point :whoa:

I almost died from holding in my laughter during that scene because Batman was like

No... THIS totally killed the movie.

Made ZERO logic, even by their own rules.... the ultimate example of lazy writing to kill off an already forgettable antagonist.

According to El Maybe, one of the scenes that was cut out was of Supes going to Gotham and investigating Batman.

Would have love to seen that instead of that Kevin Costner shyt :beli:
That's true though now that I think about it. We never got much Reporter Clark Kent. Maybe in the future
