Well look. I'm all for critiquing a movie and pointing out its flaws. That's fair ground and what should happen. Criticism is ultimately about how the movie effects you and what you take into it which is why its purely subjective and not worth getting anyone's panties in a bunch over it. But, I don't understand calling out the tone of a movie as a flaw. You take the movie as is and see how well it accomplished what it set out to do the way it was doing it.

I wholeheartedly agree which is why it rubbed me the wrong way when numerous critics kept mentioning how it was humorless and dreary unlike Marvel

That's where I think the conspiracy theories are coming from. The film has its flaws but no way should it be at a 30. The lowest it should be is 60 and the highest should be 70-75.

First off, Snyder has a hard on for Frank Miller like seriously. But I get it, we all got people who influenced us and with that said, I really liked this movie. My boy and I saw it and we both walked away liking it with a lot to talk about. It's not a perfect flick by any means, but it does a lot more good than bad. I loved the philosophical/political shyt going on in the first half of it, especially with the current political climate we're in. Superman operating unchecked, an alien being making us feel less inferior, Batman clearly being driven to the point of being psychotic and his vigilantism not being in check either. It's got more in common with Snyder's Watchmen than Man of Steel and that's always a plus. It's not an easy flick to digest at all. Batman is dope and Ben definitely crushed the buildings. Wonder Woman was also very cool and her theme music is. Jesse's Lex is hit or miss with me. There are moments where I really like what he's doing and moments where I feel like he's doing too much and goes a tad overboard but his reason for hating Superman is developed really well and in a way, he and bruce have similar reasons. But there's a nice theological thread that the movie has that I also respond to but that's probably because I'm a religious cat. And Bruce's visions were. Those visions along with seeing the trinity together got me really hype for Justice League

The Doomsday CGI and damn near all of the CGI in that fight is terrible, theres some narrative issues it has and for anyone wondering, it's definitely a batman movie more than a superman movie. I don't see that as a flaw but I know it'll rub some people the wrong way. It's a ballsy comic book flick and I appreciate it. 7.5 or 8/10. Good, not great, but in no way trash.

I seen it twice and sat right next to kids way under 13 years of age and they were all into it..... that overprotective shyt need to be tossed out.

It was a well done movie... a couple of editing flaws but I hear those have to do with them cutting stuff out to save for the director's cut because it was already too long.

Ppl doggin this movie for no reason... not every movie has to act like Marvel... Fox's X-Men movies are different than Marvel's and the recent ones don't get shytted on like this 1

I wish these critics would just watch the movie for what it is... if they saw Man of Steel and are familiar with Zack Snyder films then they should've known what they were getting themselves into before the movie started

Affleck should be getting all the praise in the world right now because his performance was spot on and he defied initial casting critics. My only gripe with him is some of Batman's methods that might've left some casualties but that happens in EVERY Batman movie and is more the fault of the writers

That's fine but as a critic that's not your job to knock a movie because you may or may not want your kids to see it. Unless every critic or person on this planet is part of some conservative parent group, that's not their job.

Nah bret lol not in the industry. I was just a journalist for a bit and do more hip hop journalism now along with my big boy government job. BUT ultimately from what I can gather from the reviews that don't like it that I've read: it's not the movie they want it to be. They want something with a bit more humor to it and something a bit lighter and more in line with what Marvel is doing. Read the Deadline review, who is a guy in the industry, and he has his feelings on why people are down on it
