Yeah lex was wack....and all his talking was weak when I look back at it

Yes its like the square peg in the round whole thing.... if you want this darker brooding tone.... you dont get a corny actor to portray a more historically suave gentleman in a corny portrayal... I repeat.... Mark Strong would've been excellent for this role..... I mean that nicca is fukking Lex

This. I couldn't help but compare this to Jamie Foxx in Amazing Spider-Man 2, where dude hammed it up in a series that wasn't supposed to be campy.

It seems as though DC fan boys and plea coppers are only concerned about the spectacle of it all. I can dig it. The eyegasm of seeing batman and superman on the big screen together. I get it.

Critics and people who actually enjoy a coherent plot look at the bigger picture. It's hard to enjoy a movie when the story isn't told very well. Everything about this movie is RANDOM. From the day the announced this movie, to the people they got to play specific characters. Nothing about this feels organic.

And like I said before. MOS was a fumble and an interception. BvS is trying to get the points back with a hail marry. This movie was an incomplete pass.

Them "reveals" :mjlol:

especially the "below surface one"..... its like that went a little too long and just came off kinda awkward and strange

:deadmanny: at that last line

One of the reason's that Lex was a complete letdown to me because this was the 1st Lex on really any platform that was swagless and had no "presence"

From Hackmen, to Spacey, to the cartoon portrayal of him.... hell to even buddy from Smallville.... all of them played Lex WAAAAAAAAYYYY better.

Jesse seemed all over the place and it was hard to really take him serious as the "big baddy" or mastermind. Again, I think he would've made an excellent Riddler but his Joker was booty.

I think for this world Mark Strong would absolutely fukking KILL IT as Lex in this universe, I mean dude has presence and I think has a great look for Lex

If they could recast..... I would get him.... I think that move alone would've added so much more value to this character and movie
That's how I saw a Lex to be as well.

Just dark, menacing, methodical.

I said the same thing. Eisenberg as the Riddler made more sense than him as lex.

I agree.. DC fukked up somewhat and I think that's the studio not being on the same page or listening to fans. Eisenberg was a clear choice to NOT be lex.. And I guess because Heath, possibly Leto, and etc killed their roles they went with it.

I just don't know what they saw in Eisenberg to think he could be a good Lex with his quirks, montages, etc.

His best scenes were the speech he gave at the party and the candy scene... Which I LIKED that version of Lex...

I dont know. Gonna watch it again tomorrow.

It felt like he auditioned for Riddler before they cut him out of the movie but then Snyder decided he liked him and kept him around to play Luthor and was just like "Do what you did as the Riddler but as Lex" :pachaha:

I don't understand what you're trying to say

Was Goku a dark character? No so those moments when he was enraged like when he fought Frieza had even more impact on us the veiwer. SUperman is always brooding so when he is mad it's just another day

Goku had dark MOMENTS, he wasn't always dark, his character was optimistic and cheery, which just proves my point because supes is the same in the comics and it worked for his character. A happy go lucky guy with the power to take out the earth but chooses to help it, it makes sense because that's is the type of person he is, this superman is always in a bad mood so why is he trying to save earth? Flash even implies the death of one of his loved ones has him go ballistic and power crazy, is his love for earth that fragile?
He's not always brooding... He's going through an origin story. shyt isn't gonna be happy go lucky or smooth especially in this universe where people dying left and right.

Superman is dealing with people wanting to hate him then wanting him to save them.. He's not feeling the love or appreciation. After he dies for them, then they see it in which u might see that superman you desperately want to.

Even Batman has changed because of Superman. He could've ended Lex... But knew that not what Clark wanted.

Superman was always good... Or at least better than most of us. Imagine if you had the abilities.. You know how many people you probably would have killed? Superman was never on Gokus level of kid-like playfulness. Never.... All Goku wanted to do was laugh, eat, and fight.

Goku was more like Thor than Superman

One of the worst superhero movies ever made. It is worse than Batman & Robin. It is worse than Catwoman. It is worse than last summer's Fantastic Four. A lugubrious experience that squanders every ounce of promise.

That can't be reality...

He's exaggerating...right?

I gotta say...I thought he did a good job :yeshrug:

He was just not "Our Lex"

I enjoyed the convos and dialogue he had.

The only issue I had was watching it knowing another actor capable of looking really menacing would have been better.

And see, I hated those 2 scenes:mjlol:

I thought the lollipop scene was weird and awkward..... didnt know what they was going for.

The speech scene where he came unhinged.... I thought that was just a bad scene..... even at Lex's weakest moments, not even he would come unhinged and awkward like that in public.... dude would've been more suave, cool, and charismatic.

But since we have as peeps in here have been calling a more "emo" dark Superman in this world. If they didnt want to go the suave cool route.... they probably should've went with a more aggressive, ferocious, more gully or menacing portrayal of Lex. Stoic wouldve even be fine like peeps under him fear his mere presence. I got the vibe that no one took here serious and looked at him like a clown.

Its like everyone in this movie were adults and he portrayed Lex as a boy.... and they hinted so many times that BM/BW been around for like 20 years, I wonder was it a point to make it seem like Lex basically just came on the scene in the last 2-3 years?

So Eisenberg was supposed to be Riddler?
That's actually a good casting and makes sense in the movie with how he acted.

to me, it's easily better than both of those....
After seeing it twice...
The only movies I'd take ahead of it are Nolan's 1st two Batman films, Iron Man, Avengers, CA: WS, and maybe GOTG.

The only reason its not ahead of a few of those is because Snyder/Studio just didn't know how to edit this movie in a way to keep the story as focused as those other movies. The highs of this movie are some of the best I've seen. The lows...well none of the movies listed have lows like BvS.

I still gotta let it process. Snyder films aren't for everyone.
The more I think it about it should have been two movies if they really had almost 6 hours of footage.
