Based on?...:leostare:

On a side note this guys thirst has been on a hundred since he was cast. He might actually have randomly been wearing that Borg Life shirt that day. Hasn't he let it slip that he's only filmed with Affleck?

Based on the character and his new 52 interpretation. There's a lot of depth there as the neglected child of a smart man and how his dad only started to show an interest in him once his technology was used to put him back together. So you've got a guy with a chip on his shoulder trying to prove to his dad that he's worth a damn while also benefiting from his dad's tech and having to realize that it's not the tech that makes him a hero. So how does a guy with that kind of complex, who is just a high school kid, interact with these truly superhuman beings or a guy like batman who's trained since he was a teenager to be who he is?

Plus you've got the whole dream deferred angle. He was a high school superstar on his way to any college he wanted before the accident and now he's half human half machine.
