Magneto, Xavier, and Scott were the only ones that worked for me as far as character but it felt like they were taking a back seat to Mystique, imo.
Whereas I felt like I understood Batman and Superman throughout BvS.

Yeah I've had that mystique conversation on here and I feel like she actually took a backseat to them for real. It seemed like the Magneto show once again. He had the most compelling arc and the one that was the most poignant.

Very similar but I think the conflict was better illustrated in civil war which is why I say it's the better flick. and the conflict resolution was better handled. And all of it felt of a piece rather than feeling like characters were in different flicks. Mostly Lex's character feeling like he's in a different movie altogether
Lex is probably the main thing I disliked the most.

And not enough Batfleck but it got me excited for his upcoming movies

Thing is, i liked CW a lot i just never had the urge to rewatch it again outside of the BP and Spidey scenes.

I had the urge to rewatch Deadpool and BvS multiple times

Funny thing is, CW and BvS were really similar. It was just BvS didnt have the simple linear story that CW did
Agree with everything you said..

Honestly just watch CW for the action scenes. But I think it was just too well done for me to say its not the best. Deadpool I had the urge to rewatch more, but idk...I gotta be in the right mood.

BvS is flawed, but I like rewatching it and discovering certain things I didn't notice.

Man I use to love their movies growing up when I didn't know any better. When you heard that music and saw this

You knew you were in for some top notch fukkery.
American Ninja
The Barbarians
Cobra
Kickboxer
Invasion USA
Missing In Action

That netflix doc was dope too and boy did they make some trash.
:whew: they kept the USA network's belly full.

Looking at the ultimate cut I think they cut out a lot of Superman.

Lex is hit or miss. Its not traditional Lex. Some scenes are very good imo, like the Capitol Hill and Rooftop scenes. Then he just gets silly when creating Doomsday and then letting his loose.

I think they make a good movie as a follow up to MOS. Its just not the movie people wanted. The light of Superman vs. The Dark of Batman. Superman was still in a not so great place so we couldn't get that duality.

I think the movie would have been much different if MOS was liked more or Superman was more cognizant of the destruction he was apart of.

In hindsight, they probably would have been better acting like Superman was no threat at all and just switch it around and make it just about him trying to stop Batman.

Just make Superman already loved by everyone (and have in a good positive/hopeful mood) and maybe more people like it.

Fassbender always delivers but I felt he got pushed aside once he became a Horsemen.

I usually see movies like this twice to really take it all in so I can be remembering it wrong. I was seesawing with BvS till I saw it for a second time and now I like it :yeshrug:

I definitely feel you that the horsemen got the shaft. But even when he was a horseman, Xavier and Mystique's goal was to save him not to stop him. They seemed more consumed with saving him than stopping apocalypse. I saw batman v superman twice and the 2nd time i saw it i felt like it was fine. i still like it but I've got issues with it. I don't think its impossible to like something while still pointing out the flaws in it and its strengths. it does some good things but also does some bad things that stop it from being as great as it should be

Yeah... Maybe..

Only Lex scene i liked was the Capitol Hill and the party when he started rambling but that had to grow on me. Rooftop scene was terrible to me...

Clown was acting like the riddler and i was annoyed by him the most

I liked MOS so it's probably why i didnt mind Superman in this. I always felt like this and MOS was his coming of age flicks, so youre going to see things people didnt really imagine in the cartoons and things before. More of a grittier, conflicted, less polished, less secure Superman. Glad he got more footage though.

But Batman and hopefully more WW footage would be nice. Hopefully more scenes of everyone and everything except Lex
