Nah. The second he mentioned that these characters weren't what they always were...
that was the point of the movie. Batman was lost. Superman was still finding his place in the world.
I agree that Snyder's style can turn people off. But it seems people are more focused on what the characters were instead of what they are in the movie and how ultimately they become what they aspire to be.
Again, if you think the plot is convoluted, the directing was crap..fine. But just cause they were still finding themselves as characters...eh.
