That would only work if the surviving bees were close enough to pollinate the surviving plants. Which is a big ass gamble.

I don't think any of them straight up lost a fight head to head, and even in some scenarios where they were outnumbered they still put in work. And I think it was obvious Black Maw and Proxima Midnight wasn't gonna lose a head to head with anyone.
