Not sure, I seen it in theaters but didn't see the home version.
This movie in particular they were talking about this months before it came out. They said they went into Thanos origin, then said they had to cut a lot of material because the movie was too long. So this was actually mentioned months ago.
Fred.

'Avengers: Infinity War' Might Get a "Thanos Cut" With Deleted ScenesI don't remember exactly what the Russos said but Jim Starlin (creator of Thanos) said Marvel told him the Thanos origin stuff was filmed and cut for time.
Fred.
Avengers: Infinity War gave the world the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie yet, but a new rumor suggests that there could be even more to come.
Collider's Jon Schnepp recently did a panel with comic writer Jim Starlin, who wrote Infinity Gauntlet and created characters like Thanos and Gamora. According to Schnepp, Starlin spoke about how Infinity War had a lengthy section about Thanos' backstory, which was ultimately cut for time.
“[Some time] before the movie actually came out, they called him and were like ‘Hey, look. We’re sorry to tell you, we have to cut out a lot of the Thanos backstory,'" Schnepp explained. "'We’re cutting out like thirty minutes of Thanos’ backstory, his origin, and him as a youth and things that he did. We can’t fit all of it into the movie. We already have like a two-and-a-half hour film.”
This certainly isn't the first time that these Thanos deleted scenes have been addressed, with Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo explaining as much before the film's release. But as Schnepp went on to say, Starlin suggested that these scenes could ultimately be put into an extended edition of the film.
“It’s completed, and Jim Starlin said he found out that they’re actually going to put it into a special edition of Avengers: Infinity War," Schnepp revealed. “...The way he was saying it is there weren’t going to be seen as deleted scenes, they were actually going to be reintegrated into the film to make a special edition. So that’s what Jim said. I’m not 100% sure, I’d love to know from Marvel or Kevin Feige or the Russos.”
At the moment, this second-hand retelling of Starlin's comments should absolutely be taken with a major grain of salt, especially considering how his previous statements on convention panels have been taken out of context.

After the last trailer for Infinity War was released in March, many reports from the set were released with interviews conducted between the Russo Brothers over the summer. At the time, the directors talked a lot about how audiences were going to get a look into Thanos' backstory, which had fans pretty excited. However, in a recent interview, the directors discussed cutting the Mad Titan's origin from Infinity War and why they felt that they had to do it. The movie is still very much the villain's show, so don't fret.
The backstory of Thanos has been on the minds of many Marvel fans over the last several months and they were looking forward to Infinity War delving into the villain's history. Now, in a new interview, the Russo Brothers admit that they had to cut out much of the Mad Titan's backstory due to time constraints. This actually makes sense since there are so many superheroes stuffed into Infinity War. Anthony Russo explains.
"We were considering showing (Thanos') backstory, but ultimately felt it wasn't necessary for the movie... (Infinity War is still) told from his (Thanos') point of view."
This is certainly a lot different from what the Russo Brothers were talking about over the summer of 2017. But, as previously noted, it makes a lot of sense because Infinity War is stuffed to the brim with superheroes who all have their own stories going on as well. It's assumed that we'll get flashes of some of Thanos' backstory though. We've already seen teases in the trailers and promotional materials, so there's still a chance that it will be explored, but not as in depth as once imagined.
As for what Thanos will be like in Infinity War and the reasoning behind his motivations, Josh Brolin recently shed some light on the subject. Basically, Thanos was an outsider growing up who didn't look the same as everybody else and therefore wasn't treated like everybody else as a result. In the end, it's his experiences that he had growing up and developing that led to his insanity. Brolin had this to say.
"He's different from his family. They're all Titans and they all look similar, but he was born deformed. You see how he grew up, you see he was like the Quasimodo of this time, or if you've ever read Perfume (Patrick Süskind 's 1985 novel about a serial killer who craves beautiful scenes but is disgusted by the smell of humanity), it's a great parallel to Thanos. He stuck out. He was an anomaly. He was a freak. And that lent to this apparent insanity."
Josh Brolin also reveals that Thanos is very intelligent, which is something that most people don't know or take into consideration when dealing with him. Infinity War will more than likely have to address some of his backstory for this all to make sense, or at least allude to it. We might be in a situation like The Last Jedi where the novelization or comics will share more background information that wouldn't fit in Infinity War. For now, you can check out what the Russo Brothers had to say about cutting out Thanos' backstory over at Total Film.
If you were expecting a lot from the Avengers: Infinity War Blu-ray beyond the amazing film, think again! As you can see below, a very early idea of the content which will be on the disc has been revealed and, well, it's a tad underwhelming! There are the standard gag reel and featurettes (which will probably be good for behind the scenes footage) along with only six minutes of deleted scenes.
None of them sound particularly exciting and with various outlets debunking reports of a "Thanos Cut" featuring thirty minutes of additional footage revolving around the Mad Titan's backstory, it seems this may be all we're getting. One will clearly revolve around Happy Hogan, though, so that will be fun.
This intel is based on an international leak and it's probably best not to jump to assumptions until we get an official press release. For now, though, fans are unlikely to be overly excited about what's revealed here as we all probably expected a whole lot more! What do you guys think about the Avengers: Infinity War special features and deleted scenes? Share your thoughts in the usual plac
