Arrow's Felicity Smoak and Ray Palmer to Guest-Star on The Flash Together

Felicity Smoak and Ray Palmer are set to guest-star in an upcoming episode of The Flash.

26 JAN 2015 BY ANTHONY COUTO

Producer Andrew Kreisberg has confirmed that Arrow's Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) and Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) will guest-star on an upcoming episode of The Flash.

Speaking to Variety, Kreisberg said that Felicity and Ray will appear in Episode 18 of The Flash's first season, which is aptly titled "All-Star Team-Up." Kreisberg indicates that the episode will justify Felicity's earlier appearance (in episode four) on The Flash as more than "just a gag," saying, "It really was integrated into the story. When you reach what’s going on in ‘The Flash’ at that point in the season, Barry is really at a crossroads. Having Felicity come by exactly when he needs her really plays into the whole storyline."

Emily Bett Rickards.

As for Ray Palmer -- the scientist who comic book fans know as The Atom -- Kreisberg says that the science of STAR Labs will give the character a logical reason to pop up on The Flash. "It’s fine because as [producer] Marc [Guggenheim] said, Ray Palmer is all about technology and STAR Labs is all about technology. We get to see Ray so happy to be in STAR Labs… With Cisco [Carlos Valdes] and Ray, they’re new best friends. The STAR Labs team is going to help Ray further his ATOM project.”

"All-Star Team-Up" -- The Flash: Season 1's eighteenth episode -- is expected to air on The CW in March.

Last thing: How do you deal with the fans? The shipping community on this show has gotten so crazy that we now have Jimmy Kimmel having . Do you just kind of black all that out and work?

[Laughs] Um...yes! Because I think the worst thing that you can do as an actor is to get caught up in the bulls--t. And I'm sorry for saying that word, but I ignore...you can't compare yourself to other people, you can't get caught up in all the drama. The best way that I've been able to deal with it is to just ignore all of it. I'm here to do a job and I'm passionate about it and I love it and I want to make the fans happy but I don't need to be hearing or reading or seeing negative things because that's not going to help me or my character in any way.

The Suicide Squad is coming back to Arrow, whether you’re ready for them or not. ETonline has exclusively learned that Arrow will be reuniting members of Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad, in the 18th episode of the season in an hour appropriately titled “Suicidal Tendencies.”

A.R.G.U.S. head Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) returns in this episode, along with fan favorites Deadshot (Michael Rowe) and Cupid (Amy Gumenick), who is the newest member of the gang! Not everyone will be present however, with Bronze Tiger sitting this one out and Shrapnel six feet under (R.I.P.).

A brand-new character will also be introduced to the Arrow universe: the corrupt politician Senator Cray, to be played by Grey’s Anatomy and Bosch star Steven Culp. In the John Ostrander run of the Suicide Squad comics, Joe Cray was a dirty senator who used Task Force X to advance his political standing. On Arrow, Senator Cray will be at the center of a rescue operation in the fictional Republic of Kasnia.

It’s been a while since we’ve last seen Floyd Lawton/Deadshot – since the bonkers season-two finale as a matter of fact – but we’re anticipating some heated encounters with Diggle. Plus, considering the ongoing romantic entanglements in Starling City, Carrie Cutter/Cupid’s return may just stir the pot. (Episode 18 also happens to be Mama Smoak’s return.) Considering how successful last season’s “Suicide Squad” episode was and the forthcoming DC blockbuster with an all-star ensemble led by Will Smith, we’re counting down the days ‘til this motley crew is back in action!
