i don't think he gives a fukk anymore breh. after nina died he clearly on some fukk mother russia shyt.

The only way he would do it is if he can get a great offer from the US government. It's one thing to be pissed at the Soviet Union but committing treason "just because fukk them russians" is not something he would do out of impulse. Considering they have to take Matha out soon, I'm not sure he has enough time to get an offer, and he doesn't even know who Marha is.

But we'll see how things change now that she's on the loose.

It has to be Phil for it to have the impact it needs. I honestly thought Gabriel was gonna do it after he sent Phil out.

Unless she ends up doing it sort of behind his back. I feel like they were building a sense of jealousy in Liz regarding Phil's relationship with Martha. They pushed it even further this past week when it was revealed just how much shyt he's revealed to her.

I was thinking of that angle as well. It would definitely create a huge wedge between Phil and Liz which could transition into Stan getting closer to finding them out. I just feel that Phil may have actually fallen in love with Martha at this point. She represents the American lifestyle that he's progressively adopting more than his Russian roots. They could use the Elizabeth angle as her making him choose between Martha's life or the well being of his family and we know what direction that would go.

Given the revelation to Gabriel and Liz about Phil revealing not only himself but his (and now Liz's too) "employer" to Martha, that's going to at least fracture whatever gains in trust have been made between them early this season. Her walking off may force Phil's hand of course, but he's shown to be overwhelmingly trusting of her.

This is what's so great about this show, and this plot thread in particular. It can go any number of directions and still feel real and honest while having maximum impact on the viewers and on the characters.

Why can't tonight be Wed already?
