I'm wondering if Kidd is gonna be to Shanks like Ace to Whitebeard. WB bodied Ace, but kept him around even with the hate. Eventually Ace became a top commander for him.

I don't think Kidd's getting cut out like that. So Shanks sonning Kidd in more than one way would work...Plus this kinda fits with my old theory that Luffy's old wano alliance will become opponents soon just like everyone kept saying ("pirate alliances never last").

I’ll wait for the language in the official translation to make any bigger assumptions about Kidd and his entire crew just being murdered in one shot. They don’t have to die to be out of the race for pirate king, bending the knee and disbanding would serve just the same.

I'm not saying they're dead, it's One Piece so they probably aren't. I'm just saying Shanks ended Kidd and his crew as relevant pirates.

Shanks ended Kidd's dream of being Pirate King. He's done as a major player and at this point he probably has to just retire from piracy. We might see him react to a newspaper or something but Shanks pretty much gave him a Divine Departure from the story.

That alliance ended the day they split up. The theory was that one of them was going to betray Luffy during the Wano arc, that didn’t happen.

Yeah, I mean, what else can the Kidd pirates really do at this point? Start all the way over?

Their captain and first mate were absolutely humiliated and defeated in one shot, the remaining crew were forced to call Shanks daddy and give away all their Poneglyph rubbings, and then their ship got completely destroyed anyway. Even if they did want to keep going after One Piece they have no more Poneglyph rubbings, not to mention no ship and I doubt Kidd would ever go back and ask Luffy or Law for new copies.


Their journey is over time to find a ride back to South Blue and see if the post office is hiring.

Law = WB

That’s a good connection. +Coby as Garp (I always wanted it to be smoker but they slowly turned him to fodder).

It’s really tough for me to envision those two having no role in the next generation after all the build-up. Kidd getting one shot and Law pretty much getting off-paneled would be disappointing.

I see Blackbeard pulling up to egghead island and wonder what kinda chaos is about to go down.

Yeah the journey is done for the crew. But the way he got smoked reminded me of this



Straight dominated and had to join the WB pirates just to protect his crew. He was still salty too, it took time for him to come around and really become loyal.

The only thing that threw this off is shanks seeing Kidd’s killing intent. But I still have a hard time seeing him go full cold-blooded here, and I really didn’t expect the story to finish without Luffy running into Law and Kidd again eventually, even if not to fight.

Law being a Sword member is a theory I like, so I could get behind the garp part. You’d have to sell me on Capone becoming WB but I actually kinda see where the theory could start coming from wholecake where family was such a focal point.
