No one is/should be above smackdown

Most main eventers are. There was a time where if you were in the main event scene or a major draw, you weren't wrestling as much as these guys do today. It makes a main eventer a "special attraction" when you get a chance to miss them.

Cena doesn't even do Smackdown anymore.

You're not missing them if you see them just 3 days earlier.

And no one else on the active roster has Cena's star power

Are you too young to remember when main eventers didn't do show up ALL THE TIME to carry a show? :dahell:
I have nothing against Cena, but post-mania season has done quite fine without him. That's because so far the WWE has put some thought and effort into their undercard for the most part. You can't carry the show solely on the main event scene when your show is 3 hours long.

There's a reason why the undercard has to be strong because main eventers don't need to be shown at every show. How are you going to have main eventers when your main eventers are out with injuries all the time or forced into retirement at an early age?

1. No, but i do remember how trash those shows were. Wcw Thunder anyone

2. No it hasn't, ratings continue to hit all time lows

3. You create main eventers with great credible booking and a strong W-L record

How in the hell were those shows "trash" especially during the Attitude Era where everybody played a significant role in carrying on the show and the show was only 2 hours and 15 minutes, instead of 3 hours and 15 minutes? Everybody had to step their game up. The best part of the Attitude Era was the tag team division and the undercard. SCSA and The Rock were "the guys," but everybody had to pull their weight.

Ratings do not matter anymore. Ratings have been low for several years now no matter who is at the top nowadays. Nobody nowadays is going to change that including Cena until things at the top of the corporate headquarters change.

Once again, you're missing the point...

No, you're changing your point. You were saying those shows were great without the main eventers then you name dropped Austin & Rock. All main eventers worked Smackdown until the brand split started.

Smackdown is already skipped by most and labeled as the b show so why would it make sense now to leaveoff the main eventers when they're finally rebuilding it with good shows?

I have never said this, you're not comprehending what I'm saying.

I'm saying the main event division was not heavily depended on for every broadcasted because the undercard was strong. You can't have a A+ show depending on the main event division solely.

You are aware the Attitude Era started before Smackdown was a show, right?

I stand by what I said. Agree to disagree. :yeshrug:

No one is/should be above smackdown

The reason no one watches Smackdown is because nothing meaningful ever happens. Whether it's your favorite star not even appearing on the show, or he's there but doing a shytty remix of the same thing he did on Raw. They need to feature talent people want to see, and they need to have them do things that factor into their storylines on Raw/PPV. A good example of this recently is how they had Jericho get revenge for his jacket by putting Ambrose in one. It's not a meaningless promo, there was moment you can put into the storyline. Unfortunately, they hardly ever do this. They should also be doing this with all of their blue chippers. It should be an NXT type atmosphere, where up and comers have important angles, and certain people are allowed to have dominant reigns to hone their craft.

And regarding Cena having the most starpower on the roster right now, it would be an interesting experiment to see how ratings do over time if Cena was stuck exclusively on Smackdown. He is like Hogan was at this point. Easily the most recognizable person because of what he did in the past, but half of us just don't wanna see him anymore.
