Cool.The data that you speak of has been around before Tone and Yvette. They don’t own it. NCobra and other black folks have been talking about the wealth gap for decades. Tone and them are not the only ones who are qualified to speak on reparations.
There’s two arms of this movement as I see it. The legislative ground work to get a reparations bill actually passed in Congress, which has been going on for decades and spearheaded by Conyers, and the recent talk around reparations on social media that has generated a lot of awareness by people who were not aware. NCobra certainly has had a hand in the former, Ren and Stimpy the latter.
If what you said in the last paragraph is true then I’m not sure what you’re so agitated about instead of happy that things have come this far. All this talk of credit and all that is completely tangential and will mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. I am optimistic but realize there are much greater hurdles to address for this to come to fruition than Tone and Yvette’s petty grievances.
They’ve got a seat at the table, so we’ll see what happens. They’ve got a year to impress.
