Wait...Lady Gaga can really sing?

Yeah breh. When she was trying to get on and still at NYU, she'd perform with just a piano and blow everyone out of the building. But that wasn't going to sell records so she had to do an image switch and lady gaga was born

Aren't you white though. You're Chris Pine'ing too much breh let it go.
yeah yeah. I'm white, obviously my opinion is meaningless. I still thought it was insulting to Common and John Legend who made a great song and a great speech. Carryon with all the shyt you all are doing to help end privatized prisons and the war on drugs.

You serious? Did you listen to the lyrics? That's exactly what they want the mainstream to here:mjlol:"We are peaceful, there are problems, but we will be peaceful and ask for our rights, and be peaceful":stopitslime:

You completely missed the point. This is the same oscars that gave the "Hard out here for a Pimp" a damn Oscar. Now I love Three 6, but that wasn't the song to honor, no hate, I'm happy they won but I'd take "Glory" over that. The reason it's a token Oscar is cause the Oscars knew a Black Person had to leave tonight with all the "Oscars So White" heat, this is basically a Two Nergo's for one speical they just did. But the song is fire and has a good message. I've been a Common fan from Jump, I'm happy his career is still going strong. Common winning the Oscar the same week Drake went #1. Great, lol.

Enough? Show me where they spoke out. They didn't speak out at all; The lyrics to the song are the same ol' safe, passive, can we please have our rights that continue to be denied for centuries but we promise to not leave peace and nonviolence so we will let you decide when you will give us our rights type song...breh, we need to start having real, critical discussions and actions about race and injustice in these spaces, not "support them because they made a soft song about passive resistance" type support; we must criticize the elites for not pushing the envelope; they have the space and capital to galvanize people and don't use it. Nobody is moved to action by that song because that song is anti-action. That's truth.
first off an "action" song isnt even gonna make it on the oscars for a "action" speech to even get said.

the song is about overcoming and the strength of black people. not some soft passive shyt. i can agree with you if you think common went soft on his speech but john said something that probably only kanye west would have said. any other black musician would not have gone up there talkin bout that. jay z or beyonce or none of them would have said nothing about that.
