I was thinking about that too. Whole program being carried by old heads and the world is catching up. Somebody in the USA is going to have to emerge. Obviously younger players are talented but they're about to lose a lot of winning and leadership.

The silver lining is the USA will always have the depth over any one country.

Serbia's engine (Jokic, Bogdanovic) will succumb to the same fate as Argentina's (Ginobli) and Spain's (Gasol Bros)...

... with no viable replacement despite what ppl were projecting 10 and even 20 years ago.


By next Olypmics, Jokic will be 33.5. Bogdanovic will be 35. Shroder will be 35. Giannis will be 34.

The next inernational NBA superstar may damn well be Croatian or something, and if so it'll just be Luka with Slovenian all over again. Not enough.

Thing about Basketball and Track.

Basketball is a team sport. Track is an individual sport. (ignoring relays and point competitions in HS and College of course)

If you falling in Basketball , have a bad game, you always have a teammate that can come save you. In Track no one is coming to save you.
