Yea I dont get why people continue to parrot this. The world has been "caught up" for the last 20 years, the US remains with the best/deepest talent pool hence why we've captured gold the last 4 olympics. Even when you look at the field the teams aren't even as good as what they're hyped to be, 08/12 Spain squads would wash all of these teams outside of the US.
