Magic number 3 after tonight

After the worst first 2 months since our 05 run, we wasn’t even spose to here

I actually hope the magic number is 2 by Monday so I have a chance to see us clinch in person on Wednesday

My Pops Forever RIP
Watch them do something like sweep the Yankees

And then lose their wild card game

As an Os fan, I come to expect pain
how about no?

At this rate, all the Yankees gotta do to win the division during their series with them at worst is win 2 games. They only really gotta win once.

Yankees still got more stuff to clinch

I don't know how to fix it.

2012 squad - that was exorcising demons so just getting there and winning the wild card was great
2014 squad - killing everybody and ran into the Royals of Destiny. with that Royals squad winning it all the next year
2016 squad - fell into the playoffs 1 and out against the Blue Jays
Then the dropoff again

:mjcry:

2023 squad - everyone was like it's a year too early, wait until next year
2024 squad - looks fantastic at the start and now look so lost

Guess we will be back next year

I’m not saying it’s going to happen

I’m saying it’s something the Os would do

Once it gets to October, the Birds crash

They’ll be back. They’re so young. And arguably still ahead of schedule.

Rubenstein buying the team changes things

yankees are already in the playoffs. They have a better record against the rest of the AL teams. It's just a matter of seeding/division now.

There's a psychological element to not making a big move at the deadline. Their refusal to part with any of their top prospects and essentially letting it be known, put a lot of pressure on those kids to produce, which they haven't since being called up. Gunnar is the only young guy who is indispensable. Jury's still out on everybody else and Adley has been brutal in the second half of the season.

If they don't re-sign Burnes this offseason, I don't know how they recover from that in the near term.

Zach Eflin is the only trade that worked out for them at the deadline and that wasn't great.
The rest of them trades aged like Milk in the Arizona sun.

The Royals might follow Minnesota out the door. Seattle might somehow sneak in with Detroit into the final Wild Card spots.

Mike Elias seems to have a trading problem :francis: and stacking moves

I can’t complain about him too much though
