Baez fukking sucks. If Riley Greene can stay healthy then we can contend for a playoff spot

For the record,

I don't think the Tigers have a chance in hell of getting a wild card spot.
What COULD HAPPEN is that the Twins are so injured or so bad, that Detroit ekes out the AL Central title.

While I think Cleveland has a real star in Jose Ramirez and Kansas City has a borderline MVP-caliber player in Bobby Witt Jr, those teams overall won't be very strong. Better than Detroit? Yeah. Probably. But I'd say they're all in the hunt if Minnesota stumbles hard.

What’s your opinion on the cubs this season?

They missed the wc by one game last season(d backs took 5 out of 6 in September) and David Ross woat managing contributed to it now they upgraded

On paper, probably the 3rd best team in the NL Central, but there's not a huge gap here.
The offense is getting carried by Suzuki and Swanson.

Happ, Bellinger and Morel....all those guys can exceed expectations and if they do (Bellinger probably being the most likely) then I think there is noise to be made.

It's hard to know what you're gonna get out of Imanaga but Steele should be really good.

I know people like the Cardinals to win the division but I'm not convinced that Willson Contreras is that guy at the plate and maybe this is the year that Paul Goldschmidt really falls off. Who knows?

Not bellinger?!? :gucci:

I don’t expect the cards to be as bad as they were last season but their rotation is not impressive . Reds & pirates are on the come up. Brewers will take a step back imo.

Maybe I phrased it wrong? I'm not sure why that smiley was posted.

What I'm saying is that out of Ian Happ, Chris Morel and Cody Bellinger.....Cody Bellinger is the most likely to repeat his success or do better this year.
I think there's more risk of Ian Happ and Chris Morel falling flat and having somewhat mediocre seasons.

Cuz you said Swanson over bellinger. Swanson is a great defender but average hitter. Pretty much all season but especially In July/august last season bellinger carried the cubs offense, he slumped in September. Happ is hit or miss, morel is Baez with better plate discipline he strikes out a lot but when he connects he barrels tf out the ball. So I expect the same lots of k’s & hr’s. The cubs pitching is what makes them good & now they have a manager who isn’t an idiot who has been successful with lesser talented rosters I like their chances.

How dominant was Randy Johnson at striking batters out?

If Justin Verlander struck out 1,500 more batters, he'd still be 33 strikeouts short.

** Nolan Ryan has 839 more strikeouts than Randy Johnson.
:whew:
