I hear you but the goal should be to win it all, imo not make the cfp. If we as good as we think we are then we need to handle business. A bye is always good for team health and not to mention we get to wait and let the other teams beat each other up.
They will only drop Alabama to number 12

My guy the goal is to make the CFP which you need to qualify for to have a shot at winning a natty. Anything that prevents that is not a priority.
The SECCG isn’t the goal anymore, it’s nice and a major accomplishment but to win a natty you need to get in the CFP. Playing in the SECCG doesn’t guarantee you a spot in the CFP. Plus it’s an extra game where guys can get hurt.
Also, don’t forget we lost a chance at the CFP last year after losing in the SECCG, so I’m a lil confused on you saying that making the CFP isn’t the goal.

Breh if we lose the SECCG we out, even if it’s a one loss/close game scenario. (For example Bama vs UGA in the SECCG in 2023)
We’re 100% getting penalized if we lose.

The Championship games are still shytty money grabs from the conferences. There's no logic behind them when it comes to determining the 12 teams. Look at what's going on in the SEC. You'd rather NOT be in the title game.
Yeah, 1 L and lose and you still good. But 2 Ls and losing to get that 3rd L is too much.

You can't stash talent like you used to. The good kids wanna play. Add to that you have schools bribing other players who are good and/or break out at other schools to come their way.

Not even limited to football, look at hoops and the coaches who got out of the game (Jay Wright, Coach K, Huckleberry). They don't wanna deal with NIL and transfer portal fukkery.
All the NCAA and it's schools had to do was get their shyt together a long time ago when the money got out of hand and just use common sense. Now it's fukkery galore. Saban too old to deal with that shyt. The day after losing the Natty, you got mufukkaz talkin about how much bread they want to stay or they entering the portal and shyt. He had to be like

But that conference chip gets you a bye and 100% guaranteed spot.
A&M's saving grace if they beat Texas is winning the SEC Championship to get in the playoff. For a 3 loss team, it's great.

Breh they left us, a 2 time defending national champion, 1 loss UGA team that lost to Bama in the SECCG out just a year ago. We not makin it in with 3 losses no matter if it’s a 1 point loss to Texas on a last second 70 yard FG in triple OT.
