Arbitration is a nasty part of the game :manny:

Jeter was told "you don't hit home runs" :skip:

Note: the title is misleading click bait garbage, he didn't "uNlEaSh" just spoke calmly about his arbitration situation.

This just speaks to how awful the Yankees organization is.

Randy LeVine and Brian Cashman are scumbags and they don't create a culture that players want to be around.
It's very much a corporate, cold, business environment.

It's shocking that the casual fan didn't catch onto this during the Jeter contract negotiations.
@Mantis Toboggan M.D. I know you're well aware of this behavior.

Craziest part was the yanks and Jeter were like 1-2M off, tha'ts why they went to arbitration.

Jeter no less, the yankee captain, not Rey Ordonez or Rich Aurillia, just give him the extra 1-2M and move on :skip:

"yeah but you dont him home runs" beyond goofy :skip:

Alonso overplayed his hand.

The second you saw all this talk about teams chasing a 34 year old Christian Walker, you had to know that the market was soft for Alonso.
Guys like Walker, Goldschmidt and Santana sign for cheap, and Alonso thinks that helps the market for him?

Those guys signing lowered the market for Alonso. Pete should have been out the gate early and taken the biggest offer on the table. Maybe he would have gotten 150M or whatever. And that would have raised the floor and improved the contracts for Walker/Goldy but so what?

Now, Alonso will be lucky to get 100M.
What incentive do the Mets have to give him a big deal when Vlad's on the table in November?

I think the Mets are perfectly fine moving Vientos to 1B and telling Pete to kick rocks.
Who is Pete going to sign with?

The only team with any money that might need a 1B is the Padres, and that's looking like a shyt show.
Maybe the Giants, I guess...

Levine publicly trashed him during arbitration and publicly celebrated winning the hearings :pacspit:

They Giants already have a Top 1B prospect in Bryce Eldridge that will be called up by 2026. Signing Murakami wouldn't make sense for them
Oh snap. I just noticed your avatar.

Every once in a while my uncle and I would drive there to get food from Brisas.
Not sure if it's still good but back in the day they used to hit the spot.

:wow:
