Because it will be a last minute decision after sitting on the sidelines all winter long, Pete wants 6-8 years, 200-300M, so a one year deal and then trying again in free agency next year is his last choice. I think one of Stearns goals is to take out as many strikeouts from the every day lineup. And I agree with that. Santander K’s too much. Pete too.. but he’s homegrown or whatever.
