I think that's fair.

It can't possibly be good for the game to have a franchise exist with no chance for a playoff appearance or a world series title.
the sentiment is valid but the royals proved it can be done. they made back to back WS 10 years ago with a payroll below 100M.
The Rays always viable with smart signings.

teams have the money, but they dont always have the brains or the stomach to spend what it takes. :manny:

Pete must have punched the air after finding out about the walker and Goldy deals. Having that horrible season after turning down that offer blew up on him big time.

At this rate his ceiling might be 5 for 100. Stearns should offer 2 for 70 with an opt out.

So which Luzardo are they getting?

The 2024 Luzardo? Meh. Back end of the rotation guy.
The 2023 Luzardo? Suddenly you've got one of the best rotations in the National League.

I'm not upset with the trade because Philly has to contend for a championship now. This is their window with Wheeler, Nola, Harper and Turner still really good players.

They might have to think about some outfield depth because I'm not sure they can rely on Nick Castellanos.
