Mike Hampton was told not to sign in Colorado and as a fly ball pitcher to stay away from there, of course he didn't listen and took the money. Before the ink was dry on his contract his ERA had ballooned up over 5 :mjlol:

Two years later he had to pull the plug on the mile high experiment :mjlol:

A 7-15, negative WAR, and 6+ ERA will do that to a pitcher :mjlol:

But Hampton hits home runs as a pitcher :ohhh:

Yeah and he gives them up too :mjlol:

That’s what happened. The Astrodome was flyball friendly (our A/C was rumored to kill flys) and he decided to jet to Mile High where it did not go well at all. Moose was a fan favorite here, he pitched for us alongside Lima-Time, that was a really fun era for us.

I'm not mad at it.

I'm for the players but sometimes it has to go both ways.

It doesn't make sense for teams to waste their time chasing a player who doesn't want to be there anyway.

If Philly was a viable destination for Sasaki his agent would have been pushing them.
