The reason why I don't want them to spend because I NEVER wanna hear how concerned the Yankees are about payroll. If they're gonna bytch about aprons and luxury taxes, Soto made it easy now to not spend. I just watched 2 Yankees finish top 3 in ROY and the Yankees had no desire to use them. It took Cole missing damn near half the year just so Luis Gil can get a spot in the rotation. Now, instead of overpaying for a #2 starter (since they did that with Rodon), make Gil that. If they wanna use Durbin at 2B, go right ahead. See what he has. He's 25 already. They already ruined Peraza by pump faking with prospects. Use him. Dominguez, let him bat 3rd. He's gonna be the face of this team in 3 years anyway.
The next target should be Murakami. Sign him. Put him at 1B, let him grow with the new core. I'm all about pivoting to the next group, but Hal wants to sell chicken buckets.
