Looks like the absolute ceiling Pete Alonso could dream about, and even then I can't see too many teams rushing to go anywhere near that number for Pete
If somebody offers Pete numbers like that...

Vaya con dios homie Pete.

It'd be irresponsible for anybody to give Pete more than four years.

I would take him on Detroit for 4/$100 million but if he wanted more, see ya.

I dont mind my Mets giving him something like that too. Its believe Boras is wanting to rape somebody tho. I can see the Angels or Nats giving him s crazy deal.

It only takes one stupid team but his OPS has been dropping two straight years and it was under .800 in 2024; just turned 30. Five years is the max I could see someone offering and I'd be stunned if it was above $25 million per.

I don't understand it besides Baltimore's new owner being as cheap as the last. O'Neill gets injured all the time and Santander plays basically every game.
He's a bit more athletic than Santander so he's probably more usable in the outfield going forward. How much they moved the fences back in had to be discussed as well.

Defense doesn't matter for them. They scored one run in two games in the playoffs.

Speaking of defense, Hembo was on the Baseball Tonight podcast with Buster and said what I've been saying: defense does not matter.

Made me proud to see somebody in the media finally say that. He even pointed out that some guys had inflated WARs because of their position. Felt like a proud dad watching his only son that made it. :mjcry:

they need to decide who from their prospect group is gonna stick around and who ain't. Santander is gonna get Kris Bryant money if he plays his cards right.

Will need to look at the split comparisons for Santander/O'neil. but I don't like it right now. Also feels this means the O's aren't going to try to move Kjerstad for some Rotation/Bullpen depth.

I'm not even mad at it.
The Giants are one of the big market teams in the game, and they've missed out on some pretty big free agents over the years.

I don't love Willy Adames on a long term deal but he does have pop and there aren't a lot of shortstops who can give you that.
That's because you have Buster Posey out here trying to be a fighter of Wokism and telling players that San Francisco isn't the place to be knowing damn well most of the players from all the teams there live outside the city

Juan Soto should be happy with Aaron Judges contract. These owners on crack offering him Ohtani numbers w/o the deferring.
