The Marlins have existed since 1993.
The Rays have existed since 1998.

Even though both franchises have reached the World Series, neither one has proven to be able to consistently draw fans to the ballpark.

The Marlins have never ranked higher than 5th in the NL in attendance, and have finished in the bottom 4 every year since 1998 with the sole exception being 7th in 2020.

The Rays have never ranked higher than 7th in the AL in attendance -- and that was in their 1st season.

It's quite possible both of these franchises are profitable. I don't think their finances are exactly public. But it's clear that fans simply do not care about these teams.

I think the Mets gonna outbid the field for soto

If that contract proposal was real that’s insane 10 years 4 opt outs 700 mil. Hard to top that , Yankees & dodgers the only teams with the resources who willing to/can go there(cubs & red sox can too but their owners p*ssy)

MLB should have never put the Rockies in Colorado, that team should have been put in Vegas or San Antonio and had a dome for that team, like the D'backs in Arizona. And the Rays should have never been in Tampa, there was zero baseball interest in Tampa, should have been placed in Tennessee or Charlotte. 25+ years later and the Rays still in that awful dome, can't draw, dead atmosphere, team almost never competes...just an awful expansion decision by MLB.

Anyone that has been to Tampa and has driven around the city will tell you, they only care about the Lighting and Bucs. Everywhere in Tampa all I saw was "Go Bolts!" and Bucs flags on cars, bumper stickers, jerseys, etc. Nothing about the Rays, nothing at all. Dead franchise.

Don't they already have a deal done to build a whole new stadium? Or they renegin on that too? :patrice:

While nothing is official, it’s appears likely that a historic deal to build a new $1.3 billion stadium at the Tropicana Field site is all but dead. And, consequently, baseball’s future in Tampa Bay is at greater risk than ever before.

Charlotte or Tennessee have the perfect opportunity now. When they move they need to change their name. They need a new identity as they attempt to grow a new fan base

Pitching isn’t the issue , they need power bats. Wish the hoe ass fake contending blue jays would let vlad Jr go
