I think dudes just have the stigma that being thought of as only a DH is going to possibly impact their pay first and then accolades like the HoF and such later on.

But it's in both leagues now. And more guys that can mash but are liabilities in the field are going to get pushed there.

Ohtani is the the exception to the rule for paying DHs big money.

I can’t see how any team pays Vlad Jr north of 400 million. He would have to put up HOF level production with his bat to justify the contract. I wouldn’t pay a non athletic, fat 20 something much of anything. Blue Jays should let the season play out and trade him at the deadline.

I would think Devers is now a trade chip with Bregman signing.
