Nah, this cant be serious.

Chaminade is the local host (Hawaii Division 2) school that is usually in the tournament EVERY year. They changed a few years ago to just be in the tournament every OTHER year, but they are still in it. Best known for being Virginia in the 80s.
I didn't even realize they switched it to every other year, I always thought they were in. Any idea when they changed that?

Literally is the worst Maui Invitational line-up I've ever seen...will any of these teams even be ranked? Usually there are 2-3 top 10 all time programs in the field

For reference sake, this year's line-up was Auburn, Colorado, Dayton, Iowa State, Memphis, Michigan State, North Carolina, and UConn. Bolded are all currently ranked, UNC is UNC, still a big name and they were #12 at the time. Dayton makes noise too.

it's probably going to be like this alot going forward as schools switch their priorities from MTEs that don't pay much and drive up their expenses. People got on Hurley's case as a sore loser when he said they wouldn't be playing in Maui again going forward but the comments were taken out of context because the AD and Hurley said they would be prioritizing "home and home" series with other schools because they pay more.

These tournaments are good b/c it gives you an atmosphere for how March will be, playing 2-3 games in a short span, teams from random conferences, etc. Home & home is cool too, but I like the mini tournament scenario.

As long as they're playing dope teams and fulfilling the road game obligation. I remember syracuse wouldn't leave the state of NY til conference play started and they routinely flamed out early in March. I think UConn and Purdue just set up a home & home

Getting absolutely ROCKED by Northwestern now?

@smitty22
@Trav

Y'all gotta get Deibler tf out of Columbus...

15-12 and I see 2 maybe 3 more losses on the schedule...nasty work

Hiring the interim coach always makes for a cute story, and the players love it, but they're players and not ADs and 95% of the time it ends in failure. OSU should easily be a top half program in the B1G.

@Trust Me (idk if the rest of y'all clan even watches hoops *cough* sebring *cough*

See you tonight lil nikka and I aint talking bout at Mosque :ufdup:

I still think we split the series, we'll see if MSU continues the momentum from the last 2 wins which were pretty dominant. UM has been squeaking out wins, but wins are wins and I appreciate when a team can do that. Y'all haven't played in like a week too, sometimes that's good, sometimes it means slower starts.

Whoever scores 69 first, wins. MSU is 21-0 when scoring 69 first. Our depth and defense is great, and we are top 5 or so in the country in fast break points. Y'all hold us to 10 fast break points and you win. Our half court offense gets ugly...too much dribble weave and heaving shots with 1 second left on the shot clock.

How much zone y'all run? The key to beating MSU was laid out by IU...run zone, make us shoot and miss 3s. Not sure why Purdue didn't run any zone, same with Illinois.

Y'all bigs should eat, we'll need to us our depth and try to wear MFers down and play defense and run.

When both teams are elite this is a top 5 rivalry in the sport
