Not sure if Manfred said it, or someone commented on social media:

But they said ESPN almost never talks about baseball. And it's true.

Because ESPN's loudest dumb fukk just wants to yap about Kevin Durant and LeBron James and the Dallas Cowboys. Like the fukkin hack that he is.

Good for MLB to leave that shyt show trash network.

Good for MLB. ESPN is a sinking ship and they’ve been a bad faith partner for the game for the last 15 years.

MLB’s next TV deal is going to be interesting with the collapse of the RSNs. I have a feeling that MLB is going to seek a situation similar to MLS has with Apple.

It’s definitely true. Good for MLB. I’ve noticed this for several years how their World Series coverage has been trash. Gone are the 90s when they did dedicate a good portion of its programs to baseball and the coverage for all sports was pretty balanced. They have put MLB behind college basketball. They treat NHL the same way.

It must be this sports take era with people knowing only one or two sports gaining popularity.

Surprised posters are happy about MLB leaving ESPN.... ESPN used to air MLB games in the middle of the week, along with Baseball Tonight airing every night, eventually they bushed Baseball Tonight and the weekday games and they cut it down to only SNB :francis: Baseball Tonight was a dope show too. I'm kinda sad that there won't be any MLB games on ESPN starting in 2026 :mjcry:

FOX Saturday night baseball is gonna be the only regular season MLB national games left :mjcry:

Sunday Night Baseball will be missed
ESPN airing the Little League Classic will be missed
I don't even know who hosts Baseball tonight on ESPN if they actually still air it, cause when I want to watch baseball highlights/talk I just tune in to MLB network.

Maybe Warner will up their MLB coverage in the gap?
FS1/FS2 will probably air more games now
MLB Network will definitely air more games

The real question is which Streaming Platform is getting ready to get something.

And I don't know if Baseball Tonight still airs on ESPN but Buster Olney hosts the podcast which is put up regularly during the season and is still great.

I don't have all the TV personalities in front of me, and honestly I don't remember off the top of my head, but it sure feels like all the baseball guys slowly just left ESPN. When they do talk about baseball, it feels forced, and at times they try to inject NBA narratives into their baseball talk. "So and so needs to go to a contending team to win a championship...." 🙄

It's like they can't wait to rush through the segment to get back to Lebron :francis:

I always thought Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN was insufferable, every time I saw the Mets were on Sunday night I would hit the: :beli:

Yankees changing their facial hair policy. lol

Thank God, it's about damn time :blessed:

I don't think Hal really cared about the rule like his father did (which is how CC Sabathia was constantly able to get around the rule as much as possible at the end of his career). Hal was on record saying the only reason he never thought about changing the rule was because nobody ever complained about it.

What Hal didn't understand was that nobody was gonna publicly complain about the rule. They just weren't going to sign with the Yankees. And it's been proven throughout the many years of player surveys that the Yankees grooming policy has kept them from acquiring players.

To which Hal is now saying 1 of the reasons he decided to finally get rid of the rule is because of the possibility of losing out on players. So it seems someone finally smartened him up :salute:
