Said it the other day, that team's gonna spend years in limbo with court cases while players age. Then you don't know how financials look for whichever side ends up with it

And apparently Boras believes if Peter didn't die Soto would be locked long term in SD rn. They go from that kind of money to not being able to afford pieces in place now and letting relievers they gave top prospects for hit the market months after. They're done.

They give it another year or two to see how it goes against the Dodgers before they factory reset and go back in the cellar

Soooo will the Padres probably look to trade Machado by 2027 when his contract hits $35M a year for the remaining six years?
Always better to do it 1 or 2 years early than 1 or 2 years too late.

Look at how the Yankees are stuck with Giancarlo Stanton's contract.

I really struggle to understand how steroids help pitchers, OTHER than with recovery.

It's not going to help you execute on pitches. It MIGHT allow to you throw a little harder, but there's so much that goes into pitching mechanics that I don't know.

The recovery is the big part. I can take every steroid that Bonds allegedly took, but I won't hit 50 home runs, much less 700+.

A pitching motion is already dangerously violent on the human arm. A get out of injury free card is a huge multiplier. I'm surprised the union hasn't tried to get owners to legalize steroids in the game under doctor's supervision. With all the money the owners are spending on contracts, I'm sure a few of them would love to increase player durability, and if everybody is on the same regiment, no one player has an unfair advantage.

My little cousin had a personal trainer when he pitched at UNLV for 2 years.. and he juiced his sophomore year. He said his stamina shot up incredibly, and his recovery was never a factor. He didn't see much of a difference in his fastball speed.. but he was able to throw it at peak velocity for an extra couple of innings.
