I mean.. they presented an offer to him 2 weeks ago on an extension, and his agent said it was t anywhere close to what they were looking for.

Unless they overpay, I just don’t see him wanting to stay in Toronto. And I doubt the Jays wanna get left with nothing (ala the Yanks with Soto) for nothing more than a comp pick.

Whoever signs him will be overpaying do you not get that ? hes not a 500m player but he will get close to that if he gets to FA.

YOU dont see him wanting to stay in Toronto even tho hes said multiple times in interviews....Hell if he wants to go to FA why is he even giving them a window to do a long term extension ? Keep in mind he knows hes gonna get 450-500 in FA next year.

I think Vlad wants to re sign in Toronto and i think the Jays FO wants him but they dont think hes worth 450-500.

I don think theyre gonna trade him now even if they dont extend him by spring training.

It kinda feels like you’re tryna debate, but we agree. Vlad will go to the highest bidder.. similar to Soto. And Toronto (likely) won’t go that high, and Cohen will. Do you think cohen is toying with the idea of losing Pete without a knockout backup plan?

I am debating about him not wanting to be here hes said numerous times he wants to extend here....and Toronto isnt trading him right now.
I think Cohen doesnt want to overpay Alonso and is stalling hoping he takes there offer as the market dries up on him.
