Although I’m happy the best organization in baseball just keeps finding ways to add premium talent in multiple ways - the Ontani situation will guarantee a work stoppage in 2027. There has to be a mechanism in baseball that can equal the playing field a bit. Dodgers not only spend, but they have invested heavily in a developmental program that’s yielded so much talent. It’s almost unfair to be honest.

I think the time to applaud them as an organization has come and gone. They were amazing when they were still in "Tampa" mode, developing guys like Bellinger and bringing in reclamation projects like Turner, Muncy, Taylor, etc. But now that they've bushed Lux, who is the last homegrown everyday guy that's a contributor, Will Smith? Cartaya was supposed to be nice and just got DFA'd. All their young arms get exposed or hurt soon as they make the league. They've gone "full 2000s Yankees" mode now, and that's gotten them the best TEAM, but I can't say they're the best ORGANIZATION anymore :hubie:

99% of the time I loathe everything that comes out of the NY Post.
Their agenda is quite clear.

But...the one area of that paper where they are not that terrible is the sports section.

They're not my go-to for sports, but instead of being outright dog shyt for sports...they're more like...eh...hamster poop.

Compared to the Daily News, Newsday and the Times they are the best for sports.

Side note, it's hilarious seeing the Blue Jays getting teased by every big time free agent :mjlol:

Really thought they had a shot this time over the stacked WS team full of all stars and other Japanese players that’s located in a warmer city closer to home :troll:

Let’s cut the bs and warm fuzzies lol. Sports if done right, like everything else, is a way to make money. We give the money, time, and attention and you want to be rewarded with the best product possible

The best organizations understand that, want the best product and will pay top dollar for it. Right now that’s the Dodgers more than anybody else in sports lol. Yankees let Soto walk and was reportedly happy not to pay out, NBA teams are slashing payroll and hiding behind the CBA from fans, NFL’s gonna NFL. You’re only gonna go so far being the Rays, the Rays don’t even want to be the Rays lol. They’d spend and matter if they could.

Lovable underdogs don’t move ratings like supervillains. Dodgers are making a new generation of fans and haters, that’s more eyes on baseball.

Braves got punished severely for their international free agent shannigans a few years ago. I can see a bunch of teams complaining and getting the league to look closer at the signings, but who knows what will come out of it.
They banned the Braves GM at that time for life.
