Brent is getting a pass bc he was at OU for 12-13 years, and it's yr 1 and roster turnover.

He's definitely passionate about the school and program , which is very important.

I think we'll see a definite jump this year. Lotta hard lessons learned last season

You know damn well my answer is yes to the 2 chips. Cal ain't had an actual important national game in a decade plus.

I'm still salty those eggheads spend money on our athletics in the dumbest ways. They need to pay a recruiter as a HC to come get all of the California athletes. We'd go to the Rose Bowl at least once per decade.

Unless you’re Bama, and I guess UGA, you have to know how rare it it to win a national title. OSU has been the #2 program for the last 23 years…and they have 2 titles only…and that’s not a knock on them, it’s just hard af to win it all.

It’s about 99.9% certain that MSU is never winning a title in the next 40 years, and likely never in my lifetime… so I’m locking in the two titles in 5 years.

But, if you’re A program that has the recent history of winning a title or at least being close, them you might not take that lock. Bama has no reason to take that lock bc they’ll be in the playoffs next year. While MSU needs an insane amount of things to go right to even get to the playoffs, let alone win.

It’s really rare, and we hold teams and coaches feet to the fire behind it, to the point you got perineal mid level to cellar dwellers getting bent out of shape behind lack luster seasons. Purdue fans were in they feelings behind the new black coach talking bout they gon start losing… I’m like Waymin , when tf was Purdue a power in the big ten

I mean our fans were complaining behind 9 and 10 win seasons, I’m like guys…. It used to be worse, I’m not saying settle but it can get worse or go back to the old days

A chip is great no doubt, But CFB is all about the what have you done for me lately attitude.

I don't think being a really great program matters anymore in the current format of CFB. Bowl games matter less than ever, the programs that are really getting national play are about as centralized ever, and fanbases got less patience than ever (amongst the top end ones). I use Georgia, primarily because that program is the modern version of Sodom with UAT being Gomorrah, but is there ANYONE that wanted to be them once we collectively realized Richt was gonna keep winning 10 games, losing to South Carolina or Florida, and beating the crap out some 9 win team in a non-BCS bowl every season?

That might be cool for the 90% of programs, but that 90% would be content with much less than the aforementioned records
